Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: We are very proud of all our projects. I think we specially loved working with Sebastian Yatra

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: We are working on the upcoming album of Alex Ubago, one of the greatest legends in spanish music. We are always working with artists. We have special love for an Afro album we are making for an artist in new zealand as well. and for a few artists developing projects we are doing for new artists here in Medellin.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Daniel Sobrino and Chris Zadley. GREAT songwriters and topliners.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: They ask if we can also do post production(mix and master) Our answer is yes, we can, but we always warn our clients that mixing and mastering is not our primary skill, so althought we will give a professional resullt, we always will recommend mixing and mastering engineers of our trust.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Understand that quality isnt cheap. The best ones are not necessarily the most expensive ones, but if its too cheap, it will rarely be a pro.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Macbook pro, Apollo Twin II, A mic, a small keyboard and some Ilouds monitors. Thats basically a studio :)

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: We´ve been producing and songwriting for the last 8 years. Most of it has been independent, but three years ago we signed with Warner Chappell Latin, and it open the doors of the indsutry for us. We´ve been since then traveling the world and working with artist from a lot of places.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Basically we breath mainstream music, and we always look for the balance between making an honest song and something that works in the music industry. At the end of the day thats the secret, making something unique and mainstream at the same time.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: We´d love to work with J Balvin and with Justin Bieber. I feel they would challenge us to discover new sounds and take us to a new level.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Dont over think small details. Sometimes as producers we tend to pay too much atentions to small "mistakes" that literally nobody notices but us, and lose focus on the full song, and that eventually results on a bad song. We are very sensible to the small details, but we never lose focus in the main result.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: We do a lot anglo-latin mixes. Obviously a lot of reggaeton and latin rythms. We also do Afro, RnB, Ballads and A LOT of rock.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Thats the best thing. We are two brothers, and we make a great team because we sum up our abilities. Our srongest skill is our versatility. We can go from reggaeton to rock, from afro to a ballad, because of all our music influcences and the places we have lived. We are known for our catchy melodies and fresh productions.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: We,ve been working with record labels for years, so we know what works for radio and mainstream platforms(if thats what you are looking for) We also are professional musicians, so we have a lot of tools to create organic genres, such as ballads, rock, rnb...etc(and we are very good at it) We also have a lot of knowledge of the industry, and we know how to make music that goes in that direction. In order to make a mainstream songs you need to follow certain rules and codes, and we´ve been doing it for top recording artists for years with success.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: We first meet(in person or via zoom) to get to know you. Its important because we want the song to feel honest to you. Once we talk for a bit and we have enough info we can start creating. First we´ll make a demo(about 30-50seconds) with beat and lyrics. Normally with intro, verse and chorus, so you can see where te song is going. If you like it, we´ll continue it together, if you dont, we´ll start again and send more demos until you find one you love. We dont charge for demos or for the time. We commit to a great song and the time we take to do that is on us. Once we finish the song, and you approve it, we will record it fully, as if it was a final recording. With leads, harmonies, arrangements and everything. Then we´ll send all of that to you as a vocal guidance, so you can feel confidence when you record. I can also connect via zoom to coach your recording session. Once you record you can send us the vocals back and we´ll finish the project. We normally take about 2-3 days, never less than a week to send a full song :)

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: We do a lot of work for record labels such as Universal and Warner, so we are travelling all the time. Thats why we have to have very light gear. Most of the time we work in studios. Basically, an A&R we´ll call us and ask us which studio do we want for the day, we pick one, they set it up for us and we´ll get there to spend the day or the week. The only thing that we will never leave is our laptop, thats where all the magic happens hahaha. Everything else we can get it in every studio we go to.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: We love Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo(They did Despacito). Also we are huge fans of Charlie Puth and The 1975.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: We work mostly on creating beats and songwriting. We mix a lot of reggaeton with pop and EDM. We also do a lot of afro and rnb.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital. Easier, simplier, cheapier, and you get the same quality.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: They will love their song. They will be proud of it and they will gain credibility as artist.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: Being able of travel the world and having a very high level of life out of music.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: People believe that because we do reggaeton we know nothing about music. We actually are professional musicians and have a very skilled level of performance.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: what is the vision of the song, what is the plan of the releasing, and what is the most important thing for them in the song, what do they wanna say.
