Thoughtful mixing with passion for your vision
Making music for ages now. Started with Atari and 8-track recordings. Producing CDs, Sampling CDs and Moviescores since 1988.
My main focus today is mixing tracks in the box with the latest tools (Logic, ProTools, LUNA, UAD, Softube, Waves etc.). I am working in an acoustically treated environment with first class speakers (PMC, Barefoot).

Interview with Christoph Kahse
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog recordings for the vibe, digital mixes for the workflow.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Professionalism!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: You obviously can't mix what's not in the track. Production and good recordings come first. I can support artists if the production has problems and to find ways to fix them if necessary.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Probably some gear for hunting und survival?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started focussing on modern mixing techniques with the beginning of the pandemic. I used to mix on large format consoles back in the 90s.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Choosing the right weapon.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Excitement and Depth.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Integrity check on the tracks, organizing the session, start mixing until happy.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Apollo X8, Mac Studio, Protools, LUNA, UAD. Barefoot Footprint 01, PMC twotwo6
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Lost count ;)
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix tracks.
