To some, Chris Paxton is a precise and technologically advanced producer. His rapid ascent from studio-acolyte-to-wizard spanned all levels of the Bay Area’s worldly-influential music scene. He possesses a rare combination of contagious ambition and amphibious funkiness, ingredients which provide the inspiration to make countless hits. Since 2004, Paxton’s musical home Nexus Audio has been the site of some incredible recordings- Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci” and Kamaiyah’s “A Good Night In The Ghetto” are first on the short list. And while he has made quite a name for himself working with established artists, Chris has continued to develop the sound and careers of many other amazing artists on the precipice.
To the people of the future, Paxton may take on a whole new meaning, as new trails are blazed and new projects bare fruit. This year alone has plenty in store, including a summertime album release from Kung Fu Vampire and the debut project from Jazz Mafia affiliate Heaviest Feather. Also on deck for 2020, a collaborative album with Goddess Rap luminary Dakini Star, and EPs with anti-folk songstress Margalee and Kung Fu Vampire. Along with this seemingly full schedule, Chris has been busy readying a solo set combining his prodigious DJ and Drummer talents. As he continues to celebrate new milestones, Paxton keeps re-establishing and redefining the musical world around him
