I know him from six or seven years, I ve worked with him in different situation live and in the studio. The quality of the final result and the attention to the artist's needs is the reason why I decided to record also my original instrumental music with Federico as sound engineer and co producer
We work with Federico out of the US, he has mixed and recorded many tunes for us and always does a magnificent job. Very friendly, professional and talented. My band was able to visit his studio last spring in Italy and his work is always incredible. Check out his you tube! 🙌🏼🤙🏻 - Vanessa Del Fierro
I recorded acoustic guitars at PFL studio.
Federico is a very pleasant person, with great technical skills and the ability to make people feel comfortable. Moreover, Federico is capable of listening and giving the right advice at the right time.
The result of the recording was excellent, as well as the mix. Recommended.
Some year's ago we recorded the first Seraphic Eyes LP with Federico and it was awesome! He's a very good person and a professional sound engineer, worked with him was a fantastic experience with a very good result!
Federico is an attentive professional who has been operating in the music production for over 20 years. His studio is among the most avant-garde in Lombardy and in addition to having become a point of reference for musicians in the area, it represents a safe haven for international artists. His taste and his musical sensitivity combine with a technique and a rare preparation in this environment. The spearhead of the studio is also the availability of Vintage instrumentation and the care in taking acoustic sounds. Vote 10! Marco Moraca - NUOVE PROSPETTE and FIBRILLAZIONE ATRIALE
Federico (the owner) is very professional and has a great passion for his job. The studio is very welcoming, like a private house. This is great to have good vibrations and tranquility to record.

Federico is not only a sound engineer, he knows how to work in the studio like nobody else, he knows how to bring music out of the musician and he is not afraid to experiment. The location is extraordinary.
PFL Studio is a great place! High quality instrument and Federico is an excellent sound engineer.
He's right person for every studio recording aspect: recording, re-amp guitars, mixing mastering, arrangements or production.
The studio is very confortable, for single musician or band is a little paradise! ;)

Interview with PFL studio
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Technically speaking, I have a fairly classic approach to the mix, but I tend to add my personal touch, that is the result of my experience.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Tell me as best as you can the sound that's in your mind and we will reach the result easily.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "I would like a warm/analog sound, etc... What do you use to mix?" Nowadays... who cares? The important thing is the result. It's not the gear... You know what I mean.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Sometimes my way of mixing is considered too surgical. But I prefer starting from a "perfect" sound, having the possibility of getting it dirty later.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: At what sound do you inspire to? Give me some examples.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1 Listen 2 Perceive the emotions 3 Analyze the content 4 Figure out which is the more functional modus operandi
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Moreno Delsignore - Risveglio I co-produced, arranged, recorded, mixed and mastered.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mixing and mastering various stuff.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creativity, even if I'm only mixing. If I'm producing I like experimenting.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more: good ideas, minimal arrangements, don't overproduce.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I always propose a “demo” of the mix: you send me the project, I mix then I send you an mp3, you listen and if you like it we proceed with the mix. Wanna give a try? ;-)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for total recall (it happens, after YEARS!) and for portability.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. MacPro 2. MOTU Digital Performer 3. Waves plugins 4. Sony MDR-7506 headphones 5. I know, it is obvious: my ears :-)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I founded PFL studio in 2000. I started recording my own stuff, then I began recording and mixing artists and bands. The next step was putting my ideas in others' music so I developed this skill co-producing a lot of albums and singles.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, folk, blues, americana, pop, etc… But I also do metal, punk, dance and rap/hip hop occasionally.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding to the goal and contextualizing the sound.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Having an approach as a producer (not only as a mixing/mastering engineer), if I'm inspired and I have feelings and emotions to put on a project I’m always glad to share my ideas.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix and master ITB with MOTU Digital Performer on OSX, using high end plugins such as Acustica Audio, Waves, FabFilter, OekSound, PluginAlliance, Overloud, iZotope, Sound Radix and many others.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Musicians: Jack White, Loreena McKennitt, Robert Plant. Sound Engineer/Producer: Vance Powell, Rick Rubin, Andrew Scheps, T Bone Burnett.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record, mix and master, edit, arrange and produce.
