Music Producer Mixer Composer

I am Composer / Producer who approaches Mixing with the mind of an Arranger. I feel that having a good understanding of the creative process informs how one should approach Record Engineering and mixing. The goal of any creative musical endeavor will yield the end result of a great mix, a great master and emotional response from the listener.

Mixing - With 15 years of experience mixing indie and psych rock I've learned that there's more to mixing than how to use an EQ. You can't EQ your way to a feeling. It's the esoteric side of things that makes people react to music. There's no way to apply a cookie cutter approach to music or mixing. One has to dig into the heart of what makes a song interesting and apply production techniques that assist in allowing the song to bloom. You have to listen with your heart. But you still have to know how to use an EQ.

Creative Remixing - I've really been getting into some neat re-mix projects. See my audio examples. I love shredding a tune to pieces and putting it back together in a completely unexpected way. I think of this as re-composing.

Music for Film - With credits ranging from Emmy-Nominated commercial work with Wieden+Kennedy, to work on blockbuster Hollywood Films (The LEGO Movie), to indie film soundtracks (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night), to documentary scores with Nat Geo (Breakthrough: Curing Cancer).
