My name is Juan Pablo Alcaro and I studied classical composition and attended the Industrial Engineering program at the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology before moving to the United States to study at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) in 1998. I enrolled in the Music Production & Engineering Program. After graduating Magna Cum Laude I moved to New York City, where I built my career at ObliqSound and Twinz Records working as a recording, mix and mastering engineer with Grammy Award winning producers and artists such as Robert Sadin, Will Downing, Bobby Sanabria, and Dave Valentin (my work on "World on a String" granted him a Grammy nomination), among others. I continued carving a niche in the New York jazz scene: recording, mixing and mastering albums for top calibre musicians the likes of Lionel Loueke, Gretchen Parlato, Gregoire Maret, Jeff Ballard, Steve Swallow, Paul Motian, Gil Goldstein, Lenny White, Ravi Coltrane, Ralph Alessi, Jojo Mayer, Deantoni Parks, Candido Camero, Erik Truffaz, Jan Vogler, and many more.
