Over 10 years experience, Platinum Award Winning and over 1 Billion streams globally. I have Produced, Written & Mixed songs for over 200 different artists across almost every genre.

With over 10 years experience Producing & Mixing for 100's of different artists, My career began working as a session musician before transitioning into Production & Mixing.

Over the last decade I have written and produced over 200 released songs for every Major Label and many large Independent Artists. I love getting to understand an artist, their experiences and their influences to create a unique sound for every record. Having my own private studio allows me to have a wide range of solutions to fit every need from In The Box Production to Analogue Mixing and Mastering. I have been a resident at Tileyard Studios in London since 2015 where I have my own studio which allows me to be highly flexible and efficient.

I trained as a classical Musician gaining a Masters in Classical Composition from The Guildhall School of Music. This understanding of Music Theory and Orchestration along with a vast amount of experience across many genres whilst producing and mixing helps me understand on a unique level how to craft the right sound for your record every time.

I am a true believer that every detail of a song makes the difference down the the last vocal tuning edits or finding that perfect snare sound. I'm excited to hear about your next project and how I can help bring it to the next level!

Interview with Paul Whalley

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Various albums and artist development projects. Helping Artists find their sound and create their vision.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both! You can't beat the ease of revisions digital brings but having access to analogue gear, both outboard and synths, gives you a unique sound every time.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I love getting to work on so many different genres and getting to transfer skills across them, for example a drum mixing trick I learned on a rock record might be the perfect solution for thickening up a vocal on a ballad or Rap track.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: I always love to hear your references, to truly understand what you're aiming for and to be able to speak the same language about a record.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I began working in studios as a session musician. Originally doing arrangements for strings & brass on various records I gained a knowledge of Pro Tools & Analog recording before transitioning into Writing & Production.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Clean up that low end! Don't be scared of carving or worried if something sound weird on its own. If it sits well with everything else then that's the magic.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: Attention to detail. I love diving in on every little corner and finding those little fixes or hidden bots of magic that can make a record.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I have a large recording space in the heart of London with a mixture of many pieces of classic equipment and modern items that allow me to craft whatever sound is needed and make it unique every time!

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Production & Mixing. Be that being there form the writing of a song or coming in at the end to bring the final touches to it, I'm always happy to try anything to final that last 2% magic!
