Always the best with Mark. Every time he sends me a track to work on and I hit the space bar, I'm completely blown away by the quality of the mix, his creativity and musicality, and how easily you can hear that he values and brings out the best in all the talented people he works with.

Mark's that producer you definitely want to know. His musicality is top-tier and always rooted in the emotion of the song. The artists he works with are insanely talented. His back-and-forth is super duper smooth. He makes great stem mixes to record with, it feels like I'm in a commercial studio when I hit play. And he wants to hear what's unique about you and shows that trust in the process.

Interview with Mark Siegel
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I've been called on to produce music for National Geographic and Hulu recently with extremely short deadlines. I found myself working at a capacity that I had not worked at before, and ended up extremely happy with the end result. I also found that it opened up a new area of creativity for me when it came to arranging more cinematic music to picture.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. There are no doubt some elements that translate via Analog equipment that you just don't get in the box. I've noticed this most with analog synths. That being said, each song calls for something different and unique. Sometimes even the best Key samples just don't deliver what a real piano will, while sometimes a real piano won't give the song the character that a sampled soft synth will.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't Settle, Push Further and don't be afraid to break the rules. These are the things that Ive found help the most when taking a song to the marketplace hoping that it makes a statement. Having references of other artists that you enjoy listening to are great, however digging deep into "what" you want "your" brand to sound like, is just as important as what you want it to look like. They go hand in hand.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've built my space in Nashville focussed on atmosphere and creativity. I have a 400sq. ft Control Room filled with a Baldwin upright piano, multiple vintage synths, organs and guitars. A nice selection of microphones for every application needed, and a 200sq. ft Tracking Room. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My primary focus is on artist development specifically for major label and independent label artists. I've spent years working as a musician and producer both in the studio and on the road assisting artists dial in their branding. My goal has always been to allow artists to freely develop their sound and talent while assisting them in direction and establishment.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I ended up being picked up as a touring musician at the age of 18. I was a multi-instrumentalist and music director for several different artists over a period of 8 years with tours out of Los Angeles and Nashville. My experiences interacting with different style audience's began translating in the studio as a songwriter and producer. I then began to focus more on assisting artists develop by helping them transition from their studio record to their live show experience.
