I am a singer/songwriter with a powerful, soulful, warm tone. I sing in multiple genres and have a sample of these different styles under Lisa Dunn on Spotify. I am able to remotely send vocals for your project. I use a CM67se which is a large dual-diaphragm tube condenser microphone inspired by the famous Neumann U67 design and specifications.
I can provide lead vocals in many different genres, harmonies and ad libs. I will clean up and comp tracks and line up with 1 in the daw, no panning, no FX. I cover more than the 7 genres listed, including country, Americana, House, EDM etc.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Lisa Dunn
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was asked to add my vocals to a song for Derwood Andrews on his latest album project. that was a huge compliment as he is a legendary guitar player/artist, best known for his work with Billy Idol (Generation X).
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I always have a handful of projects on the go. Right now I am finishing a female empowerment pop song, a singer/songwriter ballad, a dream pop song, an EDM song and a country song.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kimera Morrell for great, professional vocals-very modern, pop voice.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm on the fence. I think there are advantages to both. I personally don't have the skillset to weigh in too much.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always give my all to every song. I really want the client to be happy with the results.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love being able to play with my voice and express myself through music. Lyric writing and singing has been therapy for me as well as a passion. I love making people feel things when I preform.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Usually, people ask what artists I like or how I tend to work. Answers are above :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People tend to think I've been a singer all my life. I started very late as I was an introvert, but once I started I quickly got hooked and it snowballed from there. Can't live without it now.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If I do one comped track and you are happy I will proceed, but if you want specific changes, please be clear of what words or phrases you want re-recorded. Are there references for the type of performance you are looking for or the style of vocals you want?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please let me know how you typically work, how you like to receive the tracks (24/48? 24/44.1 etc), BPM. I'm flexible on deliverables, but depending on the amount of tracks needed the price may vary a bit.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: (Solar panel to power the gear): laptop, hard drive, interface, mic. headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I didn't start singing live with bands until 2012, when I began with a blues band, then started with a multi-genre party band, a jazz group and a gospel/soul choir in the following 6 years. In 2019, I started writing originals under my own name and have been pitching music for sync licensing as well as collaborating with producers remotely.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I tend to be a bit of a chameleon, depending on what range and what genre I am singing. I've had feedback that I sound like artists such as Adele, Roberta Flack, Bon Jovi, Yaz, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse...my lower range can be androgynous.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Adele or Sara Bareilles would be my dream collaborators. Both have amazing vocals and songwriting skills.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I tend to run the whole song at least twice before I start comping and finding the parts I want to keep as the final. That way I am not "in my head" so much when I record and can really focus on the emotion and energy.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I tend to jump around with genres in both writing and singing, but I would say I am most suited for R&B, Blues, Gospel, Soul, Jazz.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a 2.5 octave range and a lot of power and soul to my voice.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring dynamics, emotion, energy and authenticity to vocal work and also lyric writing.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I will will typically do 3 leads that are comped and lined up so they can be panned Right/Left and centre and doubles of all harmonies and ad libs. Labeled according to parts.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a Mac Mini, Scarlett Focusrite interface, Shure SRH440 headphones, and a CM 67se mic (inspired by the Neumann U67)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I tend to be drawn to power vocalists such as Adele, Ann Wilson, Etta James. Aretha, Susan Tedeschi.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I get asked to write lyrics and create a topline for a music track quite often. Sometimes the client will already have a melody idea for me to sing. I can find harmonies if they are not provided, but are wanted, as well as ad libs.
