Interview with Maximo Signiorini

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Gain staging is crucial when mixing, I would recommend starting with this.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: For me my strongest skill lies in mixing

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: If it regards mixing, I always start with drums and bass and mix everything in mono, and build everything from there. When I have a decent mix in mono I then open it up to stereo for further mixing, this way I ensure the song is mono-compatible which is crucial nowadays.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: I work with a mac mini as my main computer with Ableton Live, Logic Pro X and Reaper. I also have a RME Babyface pro as my sound interface, a pair of JBL LSR 305 for high quality monitoring, a shure sm57 and some outboard synths.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I mix songs, ep's and full albums, do sound design and produce beats or arrangements for your song
