Songwriting:
Do you need someone to critique or edit your songs? Do you need help bringing a song, lyric, or melody idea you have to life? I am an ASCAP Leon Brettler Award-winning songwriter who has been living and working in Nashville for 8 years. With a degree in Music Business, I can give you an insight into the business, the craft, and help you make your songs and your writing better.
Vocals:
I can add female lead vocals and harmonies to your project, editing included. Turnaround time is 1-3 days.
Producer:
A simple guitar/vocal recording will take around 1-3 days turnaround. I do have access to a full studio, so if you're interested in a fully produced recording with drums, bass, etc., contact me for more information/pricing.
These larger productions will have a longer turnaround time.
I'm easy to work with and can update you during the whole process with rough mixes and ideas. I'm always up for collaboration and can work in whatever way suits your needs!

Maddie is such a pro. She got my concept immediately and got to work straight away providing me with everything I needed to finish the song. She definitely took it to another level and I would work with her again for sure! Thanks Maddie!!!

Maddie did a fantastic job creating harmonies that serve this song beautifully! Her performance on this is subtle and complex in all the right ways. Great working with her, as always.

Maddie is an amazing singer and did a tremendous job on this song. Her musicianship and instincts are absolutely top notch. Thank you thank you!
Maddie is a phenomenal singer and songwriter. One of the best in town. I’ve consistently worked with her for almost 7 years now in live and studio settings and she never fails to impress. Her writing brilliantly walks the line between universal and personal and her voice is pure magic. She’s a killer harmony singer as well. Can’t recommend her enough!

Maddie is one of the most talented singers and songwriters I've worked with. I've written over a dozen songs with her and she's a master at crafting melody and lyric...it's no wonder she's an ASCAP award recipient. She's also an outstanding singer...her voice is unique and you believe every word she sings. I couldn't recommend her enough!!
Interview with Maddie Anderson
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A new record for my personal artist project.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes! Frank Maroney is excellent if you're looking more for a country-side of things. We write a lot together and I can personally vouch for his skills. Also Jeff Anderson at Music In My Head Records. This is the studio that I normally work out of, and if you're looking for very well done full-production recordings Jeff is your guy!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work a lot on singer/songwriter, Americana, and pop/rock genres. As an artist, these are my personal strengths, but I've written with and for other artists who are country and R&B.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I'm working on vocals or a song demo I like to sit with the song for a few hours to really learn it well before beginning a recording. This allows me to fully learn the lyrics and melodies of the songs as well as the emotional direction. Songwriting is a little different each time. Usually, starting from an idea is easiest followed by picking out a chord progression and working out a melody over that.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run GarageBand out of my home-setup, but the main studio I usually work out of uses Logic Pro with a large array of recording gear.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest influences are Death Cab for Cutie, Rachael Yamagata, Pinegrove, Phoebe Bridgers, Sheryl Crow, Wilco, and Norah Jones.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Demo vocals, songwriting, and demos. I take song work tapes, clean them up, and turn them into simple guitar/vocal productions.
