Hey guys! I'm Mfasis (pronounced "Emphasis"). I am a prolific Songwriter/Producer who specializes in creating Hip Hop and R&B/Soul music. Some of my favorite writers growing up were Ne-Yo and Rico Love. I've written lyrics and melodies for many underground artist in the NY Tri-State area.
In 2012, I founded my independent record label Daydreamer Music.

My first music memory happened in 1999. I was in a car with my dad sitting in front of the movie theater across the street from the Pink housing projects about to go see a movie when this AMAZING song came on. That song was called "U know what's up" by Donell Jones featuring Lisa "left eye" Lopes. To this day whenever I hear that song I think about summertime in Brooklyn. Moments like that taught me how much of an impact music can have on somebody's life even if it's for a split second. Ever since then I've been driven to be involved in the creation of music. The most fascinating thing about it is that at any given time, anywhere in the world people of any age can hear a song that can have a HUGE impact on their life, and it will live forever as an audio time capsule.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in Hip Hop. My other specialties are R&B, Soul, Neo-Soul and Cloud music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my subject matter. I pride myself on how effortlessly I come up with out of the box concepts for songs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring captivating and transparent content that come straight from my heart.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I am a free flowing creator. Inspiration strikes me at all times in a variety of ways. Sometimes I sit at a desk with a pen and pad, sometimes I write the lyrics in my head while I simultaneously go for my morning run.

A: My go-to studio is a studio called Brewery Studios. I also have a home studio setup with FL Studio, Mixcraft, Pro tools etc.
