Offering vocal tuning, comping, vocal mixing and vocal mastering. First, I will have a discussion with you to find out what your goals are and how you want your vocals to sound. No one compares to the true talent that Lena has. She is a perfectionist in the best way. She refuses to give you a final product that is anything less than the absolute best. Lena always inspires my best vocal performance and her mixing and producing skills are incredible. She has even "fixed" the work of other engineers I have worked with when I'm unhappy. Hire Lena, you won't be sorry!
Lena has an incredible ear for music, especially pop. I know first hand she's encouraging as a vocal producer, meticulous as an engineer, and committed to artistry and authenticity in every song she is a part of. She's extremely professional, open minded and easy to work with. She won't let you walk away with anything but the best and you'll be proud of the new heights she takes you to!
Lena is one of the most talented vocalists, vocal producers, and engineers I know. She has incredible taste and musical instinct, and outstanding ears. You are in great hands with Lena, no matter what your project! HIGHLY recommended!
Working with Lena is such a wonderful experience! She is a talented and experienced engineer who creates a stellar product every time. She is also kind and courteous, making her so easy to get along with! As a professional songwriter I’ve worked with a lot of engineers and I am happy to recommend Lena as one of my absolute favorites!
Lena works WONDERS with vocals. She is so quick and efficient, and always delivers a quality mix. She’s also a genius with comping/tuning and makes every performance sound effortless and natural. Her harmony/background vocal arrangements are also amazing! 100% would recommend.
Lena is THE BEST!!! I trust her 100% with my vocals! She never disappoints! I highly recommend :)
Working with Lena is a dream! I've worked with her several times and it's been amazing. She took our ideas, came up with concepts and helped us refine the sound we wanted to create. Then she created hooks, provide amazing real-time feedback in the studio, and edited everything together in post to create tracks that we were proud to put out into the world. Highly recommended!
Interview with Lena Leon
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! But you can do so much in the mixing process digitally these days!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It makes me so happy when people say "thank you for caring about the vocals, so many people don't!" It's always been super important to me, and I'm glad when my clients leave feeling like a rockstar!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your end goal with your vocal mix? Is there any artist or song you'd like your mix to sound like?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: We can only fix so much in post. Make sure the vocals sound as good as they possibly can before you hand them to a mixer! Any hum, or hiss or background noise is really tough to remove!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've definitely had a bumpy road in the business. I've been doing vocal mixing for 15 years, and it's tough for a female to prove their worth in a male dominated world, but I'm glad I didn't have it easy. Forced me to work my tail off to prove my worth! ;)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean and radio ready!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, EDM, Folk, Funk, R&B. I've really done it all!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocal mixing and production.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Too many people don't care about the vocal mix, and it's SUCH an important part of the process! The vocalist wants to feel like a star, and I think that's why people want to work with me! I can make the vocals sound record-label ready.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I discuss with the client what they're looking for, then spend tedious hours editing and making sure everything is perfect.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm an in-the-box mixer, which means it's a home studio setup, but I can get the quality as good as some of the top studios out there!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Everyone who makes music does (it takes courage) but I'm a particular fan of Max Martin and everything that he and his team have worked on!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Vocal Mixing, Vocal Editing (Comping and Tuning), Vocal Background and Harmony Arrangement
