Nicky is an international touring and session drummer, based in the Netherlands. Curious person in general, multi-instrumentalist and engineer in his own studio, loves no-frills subtle songs, deep grooves, glitchy folk, musical pacts between vintage and modern. Works/worked with artists Weval, Fink, Eefje De Visser, STRFKR, Katie Melua.
Hey, I'm a drummer based in NL. I tour a lot throughout Europe, and when at home I do a lot of recording, mainly from my own studio. I love finding thát part for a song, often trying to just steer clear of the beaten path. I own a bunch of lovely (mostly vintage) drums, percussion items and random assortment of things, and have been able to go many places with this, sound-wise. Beside the perpetual quest into the land of finding that perfect drum sound and recording this the right way, the last couple of years I've developed a great interest in combining my love for vintage drum sounds with electronic music, making it possible to sample, loop and screw up sounds live, on the spot. I use Ableton Live for this, here's an example: https://www.instagram.com/p/Byis4OWHub7
I record drums and percussion for solo artists and bands, film, series, theatre and commercials, and produce beats and music for other artists as well as my own. I occasionally teach at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
Send me a mail with your music, I'm always up for working together! Hooray
