Lucas McCone is an award winning composer/producer based out of London. Although only 26 he has composed the music for feature film Beneath a Sea of Lights starring Oscar Nominee Barkhad Abdi, he has also been the opening act for Sir Elton John, Lionel Richie and Snow Patrol. He has produced for artists at Red Bull Studios in Berlin and Clearlake Studios in Los Angeles. Aside from producing Lucas tends to do most of the instrumentation for projects he works on with his ability to play Piano, Guitar, Bass, Lap Steel. He also has a strong core understanding in music theory and arrangement to help artists get their music in a better direction

Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I think everyone is starting to sound the same - so try and create a new sound that is unique to you
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: A write and producer for a lot of indie folk artists and compose music for up and coming indie films.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Guitar and Production
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I would say the main thing is emotion.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I think to get the right vision for the artist is the first step. So i give them some examples and once we find the right direction it gets a lot easier and enjoyable
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I don't think you need too much hardware gear nowadays but i make sure to have a couple of really nice mics and guitars and synths and obviously all the strong plug ins.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lots of the time its to add an ambient layer to their music, if they feel it is missing a space, I'll try and slot something in there to give it more emotion and color
