I am a passionate singer songwriter with over a decade of experience in the industry. I've had the opportunity to work with some of the top producers in the world including Tricky Stewart, Kuk Harrell, Mark Bright, Marcus Hummon, Brian Kennedy, and Davix Foreman. My unique voice and perspective will bring warmth and soul to every record!

I am available for session or background singing, including performances and studio sessions. I can complete demo vocals for you as a lead singer, or arrange background vocals for your final recording. I have the ability to record myself, and can send edited or raw vocals to the final engineer.
Songwriting:
I have experience in writing in multiple genres including Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Country, and Latin. I write for my own artist project, other artist's music, and sync and licensing. I've had the opportunity to write in both Nashville and Los Angeles, and have developed my own style using the techniques and perspectives from all styles of songwriting.

Endorse Fenyx RoseFenyx absolutely crushes the background vocal game. I’ve had her sing on multiple demos and at multiple shows. She finds the harmony where I can’t and hits it perfectly every time. If u need someone to fill out your track with vocal stacks, Fenyx is the one
Fenyx Rose has been able to bring so much to the table for every session and every rehearsal we’ve ever been apart of together. Whether it’s background vocals, writing, lyricism, melodies, stage presence, performances and arrangements with bands, she can do it all. The way she blends with plenty of other voices and other singers’ visions for projects or performances is incredible. She truly understands music inside and out. She is a true vocalist and musician and has so much experience to back it all up!
Interview with Fenyx Rose
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm especially proud of my own project! I've written on every record I've put out, some of the songs I've written 100% on, and have had a hand in every aspect of the production, etc. You can find all my music on all streaming platforms under Fenyx Rose
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My main focus is working on my own artist project, and writing for sync and licensing.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Davix Foreman for production, vocal production, and mixing Angelique Calvillo for a female vocalist, production, and vocal production Scott Welch for production, mixing, and mastering
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because it's the new standard, and makes every process more efficient and fast.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to give my best to your project, and see it through to completion.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That's a really hard question to answer because there are so many aspects of my job that I love. I love telling a story through songwriting, I love recording vocals, I love it all!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What style do you write/sing in? Everything except heavy metal is usually my answer.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think songwriters don't get enough credit in the industry. Not everyone can write a well structured, catchy, yet witty song. It takes skill and practice just like any other craft.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your vision and how can I help you bring it to life? What emotion do you want your listener to feel?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure I fit whatever style or vibe you're looking for. Stay strong to your original vision, and don't let other people's opinions overly influence the final outcome of your song or project.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, interface, mic, cell phone, and hard drive.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path has always been to be a successful artist. I started pursuing music professionally when I was 12 years old as a part of a group with my sisters, Calvillo Sisters. For the past 2 years I've been pursuing a career as a solo artist.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style as an artist is definitely Pop R&B, but because I was raised with so many different genres you'll hear notes of a lot of different styles incorporated in my sound.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Erykah Badu would be my all time dream artist to collaborate with because she has so much depth in her messages while providing the most unique style; I absolutely adore her! Other artists I would really love to collaborate with include H.E.R, SZA, Miguel, Lucky Daye, and Nai Palm.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If the music doesn't evoke emotion then you've gone wrong somewhere. It doesn't matter what the emotion is, but I want to feel something when I listen to music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My wheelhouse is Pop R&B, but I can pretty much write or sing for any genre. I lived and worked in Nashville, so I have a lot of experience in country and Americana. I have written multiple latin songs, pop songs, commercial songs, the list goes on...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm definitely a singer first. I've been arranging harmony since I was 6 years old, so I have a ton of experience in vocal arrangements, etc. I've had the opportunity to work with some of the best vocal producers in the world, so I know how to keep it professional and deliver what you need in the studio.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My vocals bring soul and warmth, my writing brings depth, wit, sarcasm, fun, and emotion. My melodies are unique and catchy.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When it comes to songwriting it all depends on where my inspiration comes from; I don't have one particular process that I stick to all the time. Often times I'll start with a lyric or melody that I like, and build from there. When it comes to recording vocals I like to record everything section by section in the song. I'm very meticulous about each take, so once I find the take I like and comp it together I'll go in on the backgrounds for each section. I try to keep all BGV"s complimentary to the melody.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a small recording set up to cut my own vocals. I can send you completed BGV's or demos, and can also send raw files to another engineer or producer for a final edit.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my favorite artists include Erykah Badu, SZA, India Arie, Miguel, Nai Palm, H.E.R, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and so many more. Some of my favorite songwriters include James Fauntleroy, Esther Dean, Diana Gordon, and Ambre Perkins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Depending on the need of the client I either help co-write lyric and melody, sing demos, record background vocals, or even cut lead vocals for their projects.
