Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: On a desert island, I’d take my Selmer Mark VI tenor sax for soulful jazz tones, my Buffet Crampon clarinet for versatile melodies, a Neumann U87 mic to capture every nuance, a Focusrite Scarlett interface for clean recordings, and a solar-powered laptop with Logic Pro X to craft tracks. These tools let me create vibrant jazz, pop, and Latin music, even in isolation. Hear the results on my Spotify and let’s make music together!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been a professional saxophonist and clarinetist for over 15 years, starting in Buenos Aires’ vibrant music scene. Trained with jazz masters George Garzone and Perico Sambeat, I honed my craft in jazz, pop, and Latin. I collaborated with Fito Páez, recorded 8 albums, and toured internationally, including Spain (2005-2008). Now, I deliver soulful recordings and arrangements from my Buenos Aires studio for clients worldwide. My 171K+ Spotify streams reflect my passion. Hear my journey on Spotify and let’s create together!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style blends soulful jazz warmth with vibrant Latin energy and pop sensibility. On saxophone and clarinet, I craft emotive solos and rich textures, inspired by my Buenos Aires roots and years in Spain. Trained with George Garzone and Perico Sambeat, I bring technical precision and heartfelt expression to jazz, pop, and Latin projects. Whether it’s a soaring sax line or a nuanced clarinet melody, I aim to elevate your track. Hear my style on Spotify!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists like Brad Mehldau or Norah Jones — musicians who combine strong songwriting with deep musicality and openness to collaboration. I’m drawn to projects where there’s space for emotion, subtlety, and a bit of surprise. But honestly, I’m excited by any artist who has a clear voice and is passionate about what they’re creating — no matter the genre.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One tip I always come back to: leave space. Great productions aren’t just about what you add — they’re also about what you don’t. Let each instrument breathe, and make sure every part has a purpose. Especially with horns, less is often more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on jazz, soul, pop, and singer-songwriter projects, but I’m very comfortable in crossover and genre-blending contexts as well. Over the years, I’ve recorded saxophone for a wide range of artists — from jazz ensembles to mainstream pop and Latin music — always adapting my sound and approach to the style of the song.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is combining tone, phrasing and harmonic sensitivity to craft saxophone parts that blend naturally into any track — whether it’s jazz, pop, soul or something in between.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a lyrical and expressive saxophone voice that blends beautifully with a wide range of styles — from jazz and soul to pop and singer-songwriter productions. With years of experience as a solo artist and session player, I focus on playing parts that enhance the emotion of the song. My goal is always to serve the music — whether it's with a warm solo, subtle layers, or a melodic hook that lifts the track. I'm also an arranger, so I can help shape the horn section or create textures that bring depth and personality to your sound.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical process starts with understanding your vision. I’ll ask about the mood, reference tracks, and any specific ideas you have in mind. Once I have a clear direction, I’ll record a first take or sketch and send it over for feedback. We’ll go through one or two revisions if needed, to make sure the part fits perfectly with your track. I deliver high-quality WAV files, fully edited and ready to mix. Whether you need a soulful solo, background lines, or full saxophone arrangements, I make sure everything serves the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: record with Selmer Mark VI saxophones through a Focusrite interface, Logic Pro X, Electro Voice and AKG 414 mics, using a Warm Audio WA12 MKII preamp for a clean and warm tone.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by saxophonists like Michael Brecker for his soulful jazz intensity and Paquito D’Rivera for his Latin flair. Fito Páez’s emotive pop-rock, from our collaboration, drives my versatility. Clarinetist Anat Cohen’s blend of jazz and world music pushes me to explore new textures. Producer Quincy Jones’ ability to fuse genres motivates my arrangements. These artists fuel my passion for creating vibrant sax and clarinet tracks in jazz, pop, and Latin.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record soulful saxophone and clarinet tracks for clients, typically delivering solos or layered parts in jazz, pop, and Latin genres. From my Buenos Aires studio, I provide high-quality recordings for up to three instruments—baritone, tenor, alto, soprano sax, or clarinet—within 3-5 days. I also create custom arrangements to elevate songs. With 15+ years of experience, including collaborations with Fito Páez, I work closely with clients to match their vision, offering two revisions to ensure perfection.
