Love working with these guys! Great production team and a pleasure to interact with as a session player. Clear instructions and vision. Good communication. The whole package!
Russell Pollack and Gabriel Berenbaum were absolutely amazing to work with!!!! They went above and beyond for me with a project I submitted to them to do just drums, tempo, and the mix. They surprised me with brilliant strings, wonderful bass parts, and great drums they created to brighten up my song called "I Think Of You Often". When they emailed me to ask for my opinion, I was so impressed with what they had done along with the mix. They did a fantastic job and I definitely want to work with them again. They are awesome!!!!
Gabe and Russell were an absolute dream to work with. I asked them to compose the music for my cooking show and gave them free rein to create what they thought might work best. Not only did they completely encapsulate the vibe I was going for in their music (in one take!), but they elevated my video as well. They were quick to respond, professional and clearly, very talented at what they do. 10/10 would hire again!
I always go to these guys for any audio-related projects. Gabriel and Russell deliver unreal content that perfectly suits the prompt at hand. We worked together on a song for a Sundance Winner film called “The Infiltrators,” and the director absolutely loved the final product. Very professional. Would highly recommend working with them.
I’ve worked with Gabe and Russell for several studio releases. They’ve produced songs for me, we’ve done production collaborations together, and we’ve written songs together. They’re great guys and they work with the upmost professionalism and integrity. They have a super diverse set of talents that allow for quality finished products in any/all genres and moods. They have great instincts, strong workflow, and they’re always willing to try new things to accommodate their clients. 10/10!
Gabe and Russell are two of the best people I worked with when producing my three singles! They are dedicated to helping their clients find the right sound and production to songs. Definitely recommend working with these two outstanding musicians and people!
Russell and Gabriel were absolute pros to work with. They excelled in composing and producing quality cinematic content, as every musical cue they made for my feature film “Making The Day” exceeded my expectations. (Especially the feature end credit song written and recorded in house) Not only were they quick to respond to every request, but also did fantastic throughout this project. They communicated very professionally and their talent was very apparent. I would work with them again in a heartbeat!
“Gabriel and Russell are fantastic music producers. We came to them with a specific mood we were trying to capture and they immediately understood what we were going for. They were very quick and on point with any minor tweaks we had to make and were overall a joy to work with. 10/10 would collaborate again. Thanks guys!" -Michelle Gold // Post Supervisor, Oscilloscope Laboratories
Interview with PMGRNT Productions LLC
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Most recently we worked on the trailer for a Sundance Film Festival winner. It was so much fun to be able to work with those filmmakers. They were very precise and easy to work with. Also, the movie is great and we're happy that our work was able to draw more attention to it.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on a project with a new artist called Styx River, and also with a young rapper named YoungGodBlow.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. We want to take advantage of what each has to offer. Digital allows us to manipulate sound on a level never-before-seen, and analog allows us to maintain that soulful warmth that causes goosebumps.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Quality, timeliness, professionalism. Every time. Guaranteed.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that we get to do what we love every day.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Customers most commonly ask me how long this will take or if they will be able to make changes later. We work very fast, and we include two free revisions.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That everyone can do it well. A lot of people can produce, but not all of them can do what we can do. We can play. And produce.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's the vibe? How finished is this track? Did you write all of it? Did you play the instruments?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for red flags in a producer. If they don't have a website, or they take a while to respond to you, or just seem like they are money hungry, run!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Considering I couldn't get power on a desert island, nothing electronic. It would have to be: Acoustic Guitar (w extra strings) Acoustic Piano (w tools to tune) Djembe, Cajon, or any other acoustic hand drum Wind instruments, like jugs or ocarinas Ukelele
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We've been studying music since we were kids. There never was a plan B.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Classy, eclectic, intelligent, relevant
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Eminem because we grew up on his music. Also he's the GOAT guaranteed.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never marry yourself to any aspect of any project. Anything at any point can change.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B, as well as general film scoring.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Production as a whole is our strongest skill, using a combination of skills such as piano playing, guitar playing, and chord arrangement.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Almost everything except the vocal performance. We bring stunning quality, current sonics, relatable content, and also just a fun vibe in the studio.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We work very quickly and openly. We like to sit down and get an idea of what direction we're going in, and then get to it asap. Always quick to change and adapt.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We got a room in Brooklyn that we built ourselves. We got multiple keyboards, amps, guitars, and synths all going through the UA Apollo desktop interface and into our iMac.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: 808 Mafia, Max Martin, Metro Boomin, London On Da Track
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing hip-hop or pop music, as well as using our recording studio as a space for general creativity and comping.
