Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: To create a result that makes people truly proud of their music!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can send them the tracks and stems for their live shows as well. The answer is: Of Course!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think a song becomes loud and well-balanced during mastering. No — it becomes loud and well-balanced because of a great mix! Mastering is, at most, 10% of the final result.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Amphion Two 18, Neve 1073 Preamps, Izotope Exciter, Fabfilter Q4, Fabfilter L2
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many great artists out there - I love working with anyone who makes music from the heart!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Christian Raffael Duke is the synth doctor, Andre Weisse is my favorite composer and arranger, and Tamim Ebadie is a genius on the guitar.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Most important to me is treating every song as something truly special and giving it exactly what it needs — nothing more, nothing less.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I take my time to really get to know the song and dive deep into the project. Once I understand what the track needs, I go step by step into the details — always keeping the full sonic vision of the artist in mind. And once I’m 100% happy with the result, the song is ready to be sent back and put a big smile on the creator’s face!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My main monitor system is a pair of Amphion Two18 with a JL-Audio e112 subwoofer. I love using a hybrid setup for production, tracking, mixing, and mastering. Besides my analog gear like an SSL analog mixer, Rockruepel, and LA-2A compressors, I use a Universal Audio Apollo converter in my chain. I also use Access Analog to integrate outboard analog gear such as the Neve Portico Master Bus Processor, Pultec EQ, and many more. On the plugin side, I have all the state-of-the-art mixing and mastering tools, including Universal Audio, Soundtoys, Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, Antares Auto-Tune, and more.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: After studying Mastering Engineering, I was lucky to meet great people and work with well-known producers and mixing engineers in the industry, which helped me learn a lot about mixing, mastering, and production. I have been working full-time as a professional music producer and mixing engineer since around 2016.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Delivering a full, loud and dynamic sound at the same time - and this without distortion! Overall - The radio ready sound all people know from famous records out there.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Christian Raffael Dücker! He´s a genius on the keys and his repertoire of rare analog synthesizers is crazy!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! The beautiful sound of modern music productions comes from combining the warmth of analog gear with the accuracy of digital tools.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You’ll be happy with the final product. Why? Because I’ve never had an unhappy client.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure the song and production feel right to you — I’ll take care of the rest!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Zero is the limit. So make sure to leave headroom on individual tracks by using compression, limiters, or soft clipping — that way, you’ll get a loud and punchy mix without distortion!
