Glad I found Ben, he breathed new life into my single and i couldn't be happier with the mix, i trust him with my vision for future projects. He kept his word on time frames and couldn't ask for more
Works quick and gets the job done better than anyone i've gotten to work with
Interview with Ben Jordison
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I believe a hybrid workflow is the most ideal setup to reap the benefits of both. I love the flexibility and workflow of digital and sonic richness/warmth that comes with analog. I think analog tracking and in-the-box mixing yield the best results in modern productions.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overcorrect problems or the "bad" in a track. Learn to listen for where the problem is and then address it. Work with what you have to preserve the good in a mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Indie/Alternative, Hip-hop, Emo rap.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly do mixing and mastering for clients as well as some custom production work. This usually includes vocal time alignment and pitch correction, getting the balance of the mix adjusted, and vocal sitting nicely upfront.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I do my best to deliver any specific requests and always work timely and passionately towards serving the needs of a client in any extent.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Utilizing time efficiently to turn around a product at high quality, and working closely with clients to have a clear understanding of what I am to be delivering for said project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I thrive at enhancing the essential elements of a track while preserving the original energy and tonal feel of a reference mix. Being able to shape a tight and clean low end with warm crip vocals that cut through the mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is rather simple, but it allows me work efficiently and focus on what is necessary for a mix or production. I do all of my mixing in the box with Waves, Slate Digital, IK Multimedia, and iZotope plugins. While monitoring on the PreSonus Eris E5's and KRK Rokit 5's. I am able to work seamlessly and have the flexibility within my setup to be able to integrate many pieces of gear in a pinch.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been making music since 2015. I am currently finishing up my degree program at Full Sail University where I am working towards a Bachelor's degree in Audio Production.
