Brandon John-Baptiste on SoundBetter

Grammy Award Winning, Multi-platinum, Vocalist. With 730+ million streams worldwide. Known for blending old school sound with a modern twist, using my signature smooth and agile vocals. Whether you need ultra-modern, radio ready vocals or vinyl cut emotive and soulful performances, I'm ready and able to serve your sound!

Hello! I'm Brandon, a professional singer and songwriter of 5+ years. Working over a range of genres, but I'm most at home with R&B, whether thats from your Stevie Wonder ballads, to your 50 vocal layers deep Brandy tracks. Wether you need your next hit vocal melody or a polished vocal demo to show off your latest production, I'm here to help.

My process:
1. I'll ask your project, the sound your going for and what type of vocal style you'd like.
2. Create a rough demo so ensure the tone and delivery are perfect
3. Share final version, ready for small revisions or final approval
3. Final delivery of radio ready professional vocals (and or raw vocals if asked for)

All services include backing vocals and harmonies.

Each vocal is recorded using my WA-251, a microphone that perfectly fits in my vocal style and provides the cleanest sound every time. Happy to accommodate any recording styles and different microphones if your after a specific sound or technique (Live, Dead, etc).

Got a demo that needs the melody polishing and lyrics finishing? Thats my bread and butter!
Every song and project is different so make sure to get in contact if you have any questions!

Interview with Brandon John-Baptiste

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: I have a complete home studio in my second bedroom, acoustically treated and draped in all shades of red and orange. The studio is my life and soul and therefore reflects me, with warm low lighting, full of my favourite trinkets and inspirations. The ultimate space to create in

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: My roots are deeply in soul and RnB. My biggest inspirations being D'Angelo, Micheal Jackson and Stevie Wonder. D'angelo because of how similar our voices are, alot of my vocal chops are pulled from him, especially my vocal frys and falsetto. I also love all the grooves and almost lack of vocal clarity in his songs, its all about that emotion and feel. Stevie wonder is the standout of the Motown era, I love his chord progressions and story telling. For me his best is when its slow and gives space to let his vocals just take all the attention. Micheal Jackson produced for me the best song ever made, Billie Jean. I could write a dissertation on why I think that but based on the performance, the birthplace for the moonwalk at Motown 25, the songwriting and structure of the song, the cutting rhythm guitar all under the most recognisable bass and drum grooves, no notes. I always use it as my reference for a sound system.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: The most common work I'm doing at the moment is vocals for music sample packs, quick and catchy top-lines with thick harmonies and plenty of ear candy.
