Been playing guitar since 1984 at the age of 8. I enjoyed a classical training until I was 18. After that I played in bands trying to figure out what I wanted to do... And still looking. It's just too much to see what I can do with a song even if it's not in a style I played before. The goal is to see what I can give to a song using my experience.
i've been playing guitar since I was 8. Had a classical training untill I turned 18. My first band I started when I was 14 and was called Scarecrow (later Andy's Little Carpfighters). I was the leadgitarist, did backing vocals, wrote the music and lyrics together with the rest of the band. Scarecrow was a rockband and over the years we record 2 albums. The band split up in 2004.
In the years between 2004 and 2011 I started writing and recording music for myself. This is how I learned how you make homerecordings. These years I alsof played in a few bands, sometimes replacing other guitarist for a while,... At this stage I learned to addapt to the style that was needed for a specific genre.
In 2011 I formed a band called Circo Maximo. Coming from a rock-influenced background I joined a friends who played bagpipes. We started out as a traditional Irish-folk-band. The years that followed the band grew and is now a 7-piece-band. The music is described as Belgicana, a combination of folk, americana, bluegrass,... and Dutch lyrics. All songs are written by the band. Circo Maximo released 2 albums so far, won a songwriting contest in The Netherlands despite being drop Belgium.
All those years I continued to write my own songs mostly to het netter at it. I've also been writing together with other musicians who sometimes alk my opinion of input in their songs.
