I play all four saxes flute clarinet and bass clarinet On tenor and alto sax especially, I play boisterous lyrical solos with a tone that cuts. I hope I can cut solos for you, write new parts or play your parts into tracks for your session. Mainly RnB Soul Rock and Jazz but I can adapt to any situation such as electronic music or world music. Thanks

Tenor Sax - Keilwerth sx90R or Conn new wonder 2 silver plate, so the sound has a full balanced timbre , big round low end , screaming altissimo
Tenor sax mouthpiece is a vintage 1970s metal Lawton which is exactly the same as used by Junior Walker or more recently James Carter
Alto Sax - Conn new wonder 2 bare brass, mouthpiece Theo Wanne first generation Durga provides the David Sanborn/Hank Crawford mix of edgy rnb sound
Soprano Sax - Yanigasawa with a C star mouthpiece provides a pure even tone , less edgy
Baritone Sax - Matte finish 2015 Buffet with a SR Tech provides fat tone for rnb or big band but the matte finish allows for scaling back the edge when needed

Endorse Marcus SholarMarcus is a regular member of my vintage-style 18-piece Big Band. He is equally at home in this type of situation as well as soul, R+B, rock, and jazz settings. This is a rare thing, indeed! He is an excellent sideman - shows up on time, prepared, and work well with others.
As a section player, he has excellent ears, blends well, and understands his role in the larger ensemble.
As a soloist, Marcus can really get into a vintage groove which is exactly what are music calls for, having also transcribed vintage sax solos. In short, hire Marcus! He's the man.Marcus did an awesome job recording original horn parts and also laid down some great sax solos for the fat city band album. thank you
