EDM specialist and pop songwriter from Brighton, UK. I have been writing for over 15 years and can deliver fast turnarounds. I have been a writer and featured vocalist on various pop, dance and acoustic tracks and absolutely love the process of bringing a song to life. Credits include dance chart positions and syncs with BBC.
I'm easy going and happy to work with you to get exactly the sound you are looking for, as an artist myself and the extremely personal nature of vocals I know this can be tricky! I am happy to work back and forth to get something sounding amazing.
Services offered:
* Songwriter/Topliner (vocals, melody and lyrics)
* Vocalist for pre-written track
How it works:
You send me your instrumental and up to 3 reference tracks you feel would help direct the vocal stylistically, you can also include any lyrical themes you feel would be suitable, however I am equally happy to take the lead and can often write a song just based around the title. I send you a rough idea, if you like it I will continue developing it, if not we try another idea until it clicks. Once you're totally happy with how the track sounds, I will send over the final raw vocal files for you to mix. This includes leads, doubles, backing vocals and ad-libs.
Please feel free to ask me any questions you have about my recording and songwriting process.

I would highly recommend Emma. She is so easy to work with comes up with some great ideas. Turn around is quick and quality is high. Emma specialises in EDM but I asked her to sing on a couple of Christmas pop/romantic tracks. I am delighted with the results and they show Emma’s versatility and vocal range. Excellent job. Will definitely use again.

Seriously where do i start.........? Emma's vocals are not just amazing her song writing skills are top draw!! All the way through its been a collaboration instead of just vocal delivery and minimal feedback/input you get with other vocalists! This girl is a hidden gem and is underrated. The vocal emotion I needed for my project was created by Emma and the fact working and listening to the track with the vocals on gives me goosebumps proves she's Fab!! Definitely will work with Emma again!!

This was my 2nd time working with Emma and just like the 1st time she gave me exactly what I was looking for. She sent me a few different ideas to put into my new song and I'm ending up combining some of those ideas together with what I've written as well to create something great. She is very talented & I'm grateful to her for helping me out!

It was awesome working with Emma. I sent her a track and some reference tracks i liked. I then forward over at what points i would normally add my vocals. Emma came back with some demo's, i asked if she could expand on one part of the demo and then sent me over another idea which was amazing. She is so easy to work with and gets what you want very quickly. Already working on the next track to send her.

Interview with Emma Louise
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, laptop, microphone, mixing headphones, KRK's.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, analog is cool but digital is so much more versatile and user friendly.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My turnaround times are fast so that is changing by the day, I can say with confidence that I will most likely be working on a dance track at any given time whether thats a tropical house tune or an EDM banger.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sophia Stuchbury, she is also a vocal coach!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've never really committed to one genre so It's been all over the map, I started off in a pop punk band then had a few releases as an acoustic singer songwriter before discovering toplining for DJ's and producers. You can find me in a mosh pit, a rave, or an open mic, I love it all!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I am responsive, easy to talk to and leave my ego at the door. Once I have started a project I am 100% zoned in on creating something amazing.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working on great original music and adding my personal touch is extremely satisfying, I feel so lucky that I live in an age where this is possible.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can experiment with adlibs, the answer is yes!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Ben Gold and Gareth Emery amazing trance producers. Megaphonix, epic remixer.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That the lyrics are just randomly picked out of the air and written out on the spot, most lyrics go through about 5 drafts. I am usually surrounded by paper by the end of it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask for the key of the song as I also offer vocal tuning in Melodyne,
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have some reference tracks ready and feel free to ask me any questions about the recording process.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Sultry vibey straight up pop.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you've been working on something for a while come away from it for a few hours and come back again to get a new perspective.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM, House, Pop, Acoustic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Bringing vibe and personality to tracks that need a story to be told and delivered authentically.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring fresh, well structured, emotive lyrics with a bit of an edge. Vocally I deliver smooth mid to low register soulful tones.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I request reference tracks from the client and discuss the song direction, I would then go through the track and timestamp the verses, chorus bridge etc to make sure we are on the same page. I will then start brainstorming ideas and work on lyrics. I'll then send a rough demo of a verse and chorus to see if it's going in the right direction. I then work back and forth until the song is sounding great!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record using an SE Electronics Microphone with a a Scarlett 2i2 Interface.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by so many genres, I grew up listening to rock but I also love EDM and acoustic. I am inspired by Max Martin for writing so many classic pop hits.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do alot of toplining on dance tracks, I love to write catchy commercial hooks that grab peoples attention. Equally I am happy to sing on tracks for other songwriters.
