I am a UK based songwriter, producer / Mixer & multi instrumentalist. My songwriting credits include Ed Sheeran, 1D, Newton Faulkner, Anastacia, Alexandra Burke and Lissie.
Production & mixing credits include The Bluetones, Alexandra Burke, Mark Morriss, Salad, The Modern Strangers and Sion Russell Jones.
I have also composed and recorded the soundtrack for the film “Lessons Learned” and written and edited music & sound design for advertising, with clients including Land Rover and Hyundai.
With Mark Morriss I have composed and mixed all audiobook music for the David Walliams children’s book series.
I have a private studio near London.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Developing a new artist Cat SFX for Creation 23 / Sony (Writing & production).
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They both have their pluses and minuses, but these days I find digital much more flexible (at 24/96), and can sound very “analogue” with the right work... if that’s what you want!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creativity. No two days are the same.

A: What are you looking for in the project? How much is the budget? When do you need it by?

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Neve 1073 pre, Pultec EQP 1A, Telefunken U47, LA2A, SSL bus compressor.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing drums when I was 4, guitar at 7, signed my first major recording deal at 17, became head engineer of an SSL studio at 26, wrote my 1st hit record at 30. I now have over 25 years experience of making records.

A: David Byrne, just because because I’m a fan!

A: Mix impulsively, monitor quietly.

A: Song oriented projects with a modern organic approach.

A: Experience as a published writer, producer, engineer and mixer. Ability to play drums, guitar, bass and program professionally.

A: Talk to the client, then deliver what they want!
