Sound Designer / Music Composer
I, Nikk Eu have been in the audio/post production industry for almost 15 years. I started studying the music at the age of 8 and began playing the guitar at 14. In 1990, I attained a Grade 8 in Music Theory and Piano Performance from the exam board of the Royal School Of Music. I then played in various bands and started recording and producing bands and artistes of various languages. In the year 2000, I produced Mandarin Rap/Rock band Chou Pi Jiang's album ‘In Da Voice Of Chou Pi Jiang’ which was awarded Best Top 10 Local Album in the year 2000 by The Straits Times newspaper. This lead to the band being the first Singapore Mandarin band to be signed up by Warner Music Hong Kong in the same year. I then produced Hip Hop group TripleNoize's album ‘From Where We Sit’ in 2002 which was voted Most Happening Album by Manja magazine in 2002 and the album remained as one of the top selling Rap albums till date. After being a session engineer at various studios and teaching at the Singapore Polytechnic for a few years, I moved to Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam in 2008 as a Sound Designer/Music Composer. Besides working closely with top advertising agencies and production houses, I had also collaborated with independent filmmakers, artistes and music labels mostly from Singapore and Vietnam. Some of the TV commercials that I was involved in include: Necafe, Mobifone, Coke, Samsung etc..
