Sound engineer and producer specialised in Recording/Mixing. Blending acoustic and electronic elements in the digital or analog domain. Experienced with mixing jazz, hip-hop, soul, folk, rock and pop with a strong technical, musical and emotional approach.
Full production, Mixing or Consultation
I work with artists to record and produce songs in various genres as well as design sounds for video. I'm obsessed with dialling in the best drum sound, giving all the elements of a mix their needed space and creating a cohesive feeling of impact of the original productions. Just as acute of an ear for fat synth sounds as for soft pads and groovy drums.
I am also an artist and performer with a solo project (Norbu) and a band (BAMP Collective), so I understand the artists' perspective. Currently a second year Music Production and Sound Engineering student at Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam. I hold a BA from University College Utrecht (UU) and an MSc at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
Able to host artists and bands in Sonic City Studios, Amsterdam for recording on SSL 8000 G+/B console or Neve VR console and a 100m2 live room.

Endorse Ben BultriniInterview with Ben Bultrini
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sometimes (even often) try something unorthodox and know your tools!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like bringing impact, dynamics and intrigue in my productions and mixes. Standing out is important and I like using weird sounds and techniques to push a song to another sonic and emotional level.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I believe simplicity is key to a modern creative workflow. Thus, my home studio is quite basic with Adam Audio T5V monitors, Motu M2 Interface, Audio Tecnica m50x (I've had them for a decade!). I have one powerhouse synth, the Virus TI for production. For the rest I have a few acoustic guitars, an electric guitar and an electric bass - as well as various percussions, bells and whistles. However, I have access to state of the art equipment at Sonic City Studios Amsterdam which apart from the huge variety of equipment hosts an SSL 8000 G+/B and a Neve VR console with a 100m2 live room and all the mics and outboard gear you need.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by the likes of Gil Scott Heron, Stevie Wonder, and Jimmy Page. In more modern sounds I aspire to the sound of Flying Lotus, Tame Impala and Kanye West, amongst others. The work of George Martin on The Beatles, as well as Paul McCartney's production work also inspire me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I work with artists and bands to either record, produce and/or mix music for them. I sometimes do sound and music for video such as documentaries as well.
