I am moogbadger, a composer, songwriter, producer, synth geek and guitarist based in West Yorkshire UK. I can do Goth, Krautrock, Electronica, Chiptune, Shoegaze, soundscape, avant garde, pop, acoustic. My guitar style is pedal-heavy but I also play acoustic guitar and I'm a bassist too. I love experimenting with sounds and textures and have quite a characteristic sound based on the sounds I've grown to love over the years, such as the Mellotron, tape delay, analogue synths of all kinds, old drum machines, flangers and other modulation effects, granular synthesis, and so on. I've been doing this for a long time! I love the Cure, Pink Floyd, Stereolab, shoegaze bands such as Slowdive, Curve, Cocteau Twins, MBV, Depeche Mode, Trip Hop, Beatles, Doors, Jane Weaver, Kikagaku Moyo, Gwenno, WH Lung, Bjork, and also more esoteric artists such as Eliane Radigue. I can produce a whole track from start to finish using Logic, Ableton Live or Reason as my DAW, including recording, mixing and mastering. My music theory and composition is good and I have two degrees in music. I also make visual and moving picture art and have done installations in the North of England, radio podcasts and so on. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and synths for over 20, and have over 10 years experience with common DAWs. I can build simple instruments using Max/MSP and I can use Adobe Creative Suite.
