Endorse Bobby FerrariI've had the pleasure of working with Bobby several times. Hands down he is one of the most proficient engineers I have ever worked with, as well as a great songwriter, and musician. He has designed some of the most beautiful sound spaces in Vegas. Our last project included a remix in where he was able to see the producers vision for the mix that the previous mixer could not. If I have a gear or engineering question, he is my go-to guy. He's passionate about what he does, and invests the time necessary to stay current in todays sound and tech world.
Bobby is a Wizard behind the board! We sent him a disaster of a finished track from a wacko dude in N. Carolina claiming to be the "Engineer from God", that our artist wanted to use. After a few days, we unraveled the ball of shit that dude gave us and Bobby deliver a radio ready track.
Thank you Bobby!Bobby is truly a pioneer of his craft. His attitude towards music is exactly what you would want in a producer straight forward and no bullshit. He puts the quality of mixes above anything else taking time to tweek it to your liking and most of all whats best for the song. Going into the studio I never felt I was being rushed out the door, it was more about being creative, experimentation, and over sound of the music created. I would recommend Bobby to anybody looking to push themselves to the next level.
Bobby Ferrari is a true genius behind the board. Bobby engineered an album
I produced for Dee Snider called "We Are The Ones." Bobby's abilities to get massive tones and his pitch perfect hearing made it one of the easiest projects I've had the pleasure to work on. Together we made an amazing album that showcases the iconic Dee Snider's massive voice, and I could not have done it without him.Bobby Ferrari is a TOTAL pro. He knows all genres of music, knows the ins and outs of all the gear. (He has saved many a session for me with a 2 minute phone call) but just as important as all of that, he has the right attitude that makes people feel comfortable and at ease so that the talent can give their very best ! He has it ALL covered. HIRE HIM !
Interview with Bobby Ferrari
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both!!! I'm happy to work in either spectrum, but typically I like great Analog front end then digital mixing.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: That list is long and scary!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The best player is not always the right player for the song, when booking talent for your recording... Always go for the player that will fill the track with the "right" stuff, not just name brand musical parts. Performance is everything so hire the correct tool for the sound.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Blues, and Modern Soul seem to be what I am most requested for, but I recently did a 12 song Jazz record that is really exciting.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I feel my strongest skill is capturing the energy of the song, making the feeling leap out of the speakers from every performance on the track. Which means really pushing the talent to live in the vibe of the song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I would like to think I bring 30 years of experience after having worked with top writers such as Sarah Hudson (Katy Perry), Sarah Thiele ( Independent writer), Wes Arkeen (Guns n Roses), Bob Kulick (Kiss / Meatloaf), Mark Hudson (Aerosmith) and any more... What I've learned about hooks and structure over the years can'e be taught in a classroom, only experiences with this amazing list of writers/producers can teach what I have learned. Hopefully I can bring these skills to your project as well.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Currently I work out of 2 SSL Rooms here in Vegas, The Studio at The Palms and a private SSL facility. I do all the editing and mixing at home to save clients money on their productions. My home rig is a full Pro Tools HDX 2 system with tons of plug ins and an AVID S3 control surface. Similar to what Andrew Schoeps uses for his mixing process. I also have an amazing personal mic collection as well as guitar splitters reamp boxes and effects. 5 Personal Guitars and basses to use.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to start by getting to know the artists influences, likes and dislikes musically so we are on the same creative vision pathway. Nest comes arrangements, programming (if necessary) and song structure. Lyrics and melody can change right up to the very end so that is an ongoing process throughout. We then track everything, edits, ad once we have everything in the Artists vision, we mix!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love all styles from Rock and Jazz to cutting edge Pop and Hip Hop. Everything that is relevant influences me, I have never been trapped in any one style or genre'.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do full production including song touch ups, arrangements, recording, vocal production, editing, and mixing.
