Amazing experience. Great engineer, made this recording process easy for me to focus on my vocals and not worry about any of the complicated production tasks. Searched everywhere to have someone mix & master my very first single and Rossylo’s work really stood out to me the most. He definitely saw my vision for my song, and he literally brought it to life! My first single ever. It’s very near and dear to my heart and I couldn’t have envisioned it to be any better. Absolutely love how it all came out, and my supporters love it even more. Planning beforehand + the whole process was a total breeze. He was very chill and took his time to listen to my ideas. All in all, I appreciate his HARD work. Ross is fully self-taught and his work says it all: FIRE.

My man Rossylo! Went a head and dropped my first single at the end of 2019. Before that, had to work with a good producer, mixer and master. After the final mix, I reached out to Ross to master and FIRST TRY my dude killed it! Spot on with the sound I was going for and followed up with a detailed description of what he did on his master so no details were lost in transaction.

Now after a month, my single “Can’t Stay The Night” hit over 30k plays!! Can’t thank Rossylo enough, don’t sleep on em!!

I had two tracks I thought were set but this man took them to the next level on the mix. With great suggestions to make the songs better and experimenting without being too pushy. Engineers/producers sometimes make money the focus, with Love Rossylo making good music was the only focus and that’s hard to find

I worked with Love Rossylo over the course of 16 months on my album “Miracles”. His engineering skills are outstanding! Each song has the power, balance, and punch that you were looking for with industry standard music of today’s market. Additionally, his rates are super reasonable! I plan on working on several more albums and would not do it without him. If you’re looking for a wonderful mix and master then you need to go to Love Rossylo!

My personal thank you Rossylo for engineering my album!

Interview with MixedByRossy

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: I have multiple studios that I alternate work between, depending on necessity. My own home studio is my dedicated mixing & mastering setup, complete with sound treatment and higher end plugins and hardware. For recording, I have residency at Official Bizness Studio in San Francisco, CA, Joyrizer Studio in Castro Valley, CA, and CMP Studios in Hayward, CA, all of which give me access to physical recording hardware such as a UA-710, Neve 1073, and TubeTech CL1B to name a few. All studios also have vocal booths complete with Neumann & Telefunken microphones, as well as the ability to substitute my own personal Lauten Audio and AKG microphones.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: Karina Flonnoy is a close friend of mine, who has taught me everything she knows engineering-wise. Same with Joyrizer. We now share residency at CMP Studios in Hayward, CA, and Joyrizer's personal studio in Castro Valley, CA.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Focus on being the best musician YOU can be before anything else. Don’t be afraid to outsource your engineering. I hit a lot of brick walls along the way while learning how to be a better engineer, to the point where some years ago, I was lacking in raw musical skill, despite being able to produce quality songs.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: Lauten Clarion FC357, Tubetech CL1B, Neve 1073, Juno 60, Fender Stratocaster

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Don’t bore us... Get to the chorus!

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I’m really big on writing harmonies, riffs & runs, and cadences. So I work best with Pop-R&B and Melodic Hip Hop.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: Whether recording engineering, producing, or even just mixing, I always approach songs with artistic foresight; I make it a point to remember that there is a final product in mind. It helps that I am also a recording artist, so I am able to identify potential elements that may improve the direction of the record. For example, I often find myself in sessions helping clients write harmonies & vocal stacks, even if it’s not my own production and I’m just recording the session. At the end of the day, each song I decide to work on is a direct reflection of my own artistic foresight, so I make sure to always make well-thought out creative decisions.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: I feel a deep connection to self-sufficient musicians who are capable of writing and engineering records without the need for additional personnel — artists such as Prince and H.E.R., who exhibit full autonomy and creative control.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Most often I’m producing & overseeing the completion of records from scratch with my clients. We often start with production & songwriting, which then moves on to recording in a studio, and finally mixing & mastering the record for distribution & publishing. Throughout this process, I aim to form a personal connection with the music, which allows me to contribute thoroughly and accurately to the vision in mind.

  19. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  20. A: In the audio world, there’s no dichotomy with analog and digital. There are techniques from both worlds that are absolutely essential to the contemporary sound. That being said, analog.
