Interview with B-CLEEN

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I was really proud of the placement of one of my old songs "I've just lost myself". I was honored to be on Cloudkid's playlist. This playlist has an exceptionally low approval rate of 2%.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Building my own Christian Spotify playlists by releasing a song every 1-2 weeks!

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I am a very sincere man and I'll do my very best for a satisfactory product. Your project will be in my heart.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Creating, learning, and discovering new sounds!

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: How do you handle revisions and feedback? How many revisions are included in your service? - Minor changes can be above 2-3, major changes 1-2 Can you provide stems or project files if needed? - Absolutely! How do you handle royalty splits and rights ownership? - If it is not ghost production I prefer to have at least 30% royalties but it also depends on the number of artists sharing the royalties. Do you require any credit or recognition for your production work? - In case I produce the song and it is not a ghost production then yes. What happens if I'm not satisfied with the final product? - If you decide that you are not satisfied with the product before I send you over all the files necessary for your order, I will be glad to provide a money-back guarantee in case payment has already occurred.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: - What is the genre or style of music you are aiming for? - Do you have any specific artists or tracks that you want your music to sound similar to? - Can you describe the overall vision or theme of your project? - What message or feeling do you want your music to deliver? - Do you have any specific technical requirements or preferences for your project (e.g., BPM, key, instrumentation)? - Are there any particular instruments or sounds you definitely want to include or avoid? - Do you have any pre-recorded material (e.g., vocals, instrumentals) that you want to incorporate? - What is your budget for this project? - What final deliverables are you expecting (e.g., mixed and mastered tracks, stems, project files)? - Have you considered how you would like to handle royalty splits for this project?

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: If I were you, I'd search for artists who are passionate about music and absolutely love what they do. I think it is also important to work with someone who has good communication skills. Transparency is key not to receiving different results than expected.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I started writing music when I was 14! I found an app called Music Maker Jam and I had so much fun with it that I wanted to change more specific things in the songs I made in there. Only a little time had to pass to download and then purchase FL Studio and make my career goal of being a full musician. My parents were not the most confident about this path until I started to make money out of it. Now I enjoy their full support and I enjoy achieving my goals!

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: I wish I could! As you can see I make all sorts of styles but I particularly enjoy wide stereo guitar elements and unique sound designs.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: I'd love to work with Elevation Worship, Nick Day, Forrest Frank and other amazing Christian artists who are revolutionizing uplifting music.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: You do not need to reinvent the wheel to make something amazing. Listen to the techniques that you like and are proven to be successful and use them in your own creative way. Everything you need to know to make amazing songs is on the internet for free. The question is how much work you are willing to put in.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: My strongest skill is to learn fast and use my DAW effectively. If I meet with a new style I can listen to a reference song and then recognize patterns, and sound design styles, and implement them in a new project. I feel comfortable translating my ideas into reality.

  25. Q: What's your typical work process?

  26. A: It is always so different! I either start with ideas for the lyrics and pick the BPM and key after or I start from the instrumental. I usually have the whole song in mind when I start putting it together but there are times I have to experience different versions to be able to decide where the song wants to go. It is way easier to work from a reference song but I usually struggle to find one because I always try to come up with something new.

  27. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  28. A: I work in a soundproof bedroom. The walls are isolated with audio foam and audio monitors are positioned in a way that frequencies are not distorted. I work with precise subwoofer T10S. I have a MIDI keyboard, Laptop, soundcard, microphones, pop filters, and other studio equipment.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: Droeloe, David Kushner, Jon Bellion, Twenty One Pilots

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: Ghost production, Instrumentals for singers and rappers.
