Hey, I'm Sonny. My speciality is electronic, EDM, pop, indie pop, and r&b. I've written and worked with artists on Revealed Recordings, Warner Music Phillipines, Turn It Up Muzik, & more. My top-notch writing, production, and/or mixing skills will achieve the sound you desire!
Artists! When we work: send me your ideas, melodies, drafts, inspirations, and how you want it all to feel. As for my time in radio, I've listened to over 10,000+ songs spanning many genres for over a decade. This means I've also analyzed many of those with the mindset of a producer. I know the roads to get you to your hit. I'll produce/write you a full radio ready song with industry standard plugins, while working in Reaper. If I'm mixing, I'll use some ANALOG gear.
I also may provide real Saxophones and Guitars, and some of the most realistic sounding drums and pianos. As a vocalist myself, I also tune and edit vox!
You want some of the most creative sounds you've heard in any of those genres? I got you. I'm a skilled sound designer. If you want to stand out from the rest, I am at your service. You will also have all stems and instrumental parts.
And, hey, we will keep working on the song until you are proud of what we made!
Now lets get you that hit.

Interview with Sonny Costa
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The Progressive House single "Standing WIth You" by Waxel features my vocals. This is a genre I adore with all my heart, and being featured on a successful track is an honour.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Who is your audience? Where is your audience located? How can we make this audience feel something?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began creating music over ten years ago at the age of eleven. Though music has a steep learning curve, you overcome by writing every day.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To give them the sound they want.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie Electronic, Pop, Electro Pop, Chill, Progressive House, Tropical House, Big Room House
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Producing, for sure. I've been doing it the longest professionally, almost a decade since I started, though I've studied the industry way longer.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: It is important to bring out the unique parts of an artist's sound to set them apart from the competition. I seek to bring out the best parts of you.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Pro Tools, Reaper, KRK Rokits, X-Touch One, Akai Fire, Rode NT1, Beyerdynamic DT-990s M1 Mac or Windows supplied with GTX 3090 & 128 GB RAM.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: An album for Chicago-based singer, Kyla Gabka.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Clesto! He is a great producer who I've worked with multiple times.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The thought involved in arranging a song.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That you can not start when you are young. Martin Garrix is a testament to this idea.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If the provider is not interested in your brand, they can not possibly create something that will bring you success.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Mouse, Audio Interface, Headphones, Microphone
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Indie Electronic. The Indie comes from the lyrics, vocals, and vibe, and the electronic comes from the House side.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Redfoo from LMFAO, because I love his Party Rock brand so much! It's all fun.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use templates to start your projects!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When writing, I note the artist's brand and goals for the track. Then, I brainstorm titles and/or ideas and create a story of where I'd like to go from there. When mixing, I begin by listening to the track and taking notes on the tones I would like to amplify to fit the artist's brand and goals.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Calvin Harris is my favorite artist because I can rely on his music to chart, but also have the flare of his own style that is ever evolving but never straying to far from who he is. He makes what he wants and I respect that. And he is the perfect human, I swear.
