Albert Pan on SoundBetter

The average guy just enjoying music to the fullest

18 years old, Minnesota (USA) born & raised. I started piano lessons at age 5 and violin at age 11. Music production has always been a huge hobby of mine since middle school, but only for a few years now did I start to look at it as an actual career choice. Next year, I will be studying Music Technology at New York University (NYU - Steinhardt School of Humanities).

One of the best producers I've ever worked with. Going to continue to work with him on future projects. Albert has such a great vision and so precise in everything he does.

Interview with Albert Pan

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I will always submit my best work, never less. From me, you can expect my absolute 100% every time.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: Auditioning into New York University for Music Technology was a big first step for me. I've only looked upon music as a career choice for a year now, but have been producing music as a hobby for years.

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: There are a whole bunch, too many to name. Most notable ones include Paris Blohm, 3LAU, Illenium, Alison Wonderland, Varien, Seven Lions, Hans Zimmer, & Lione. I listen to a lot of Korean Pop as well though, so groups like BTS, EXO, and F(x) are somewhere up there.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love music. Doing this is fun, inspiring, and enjoyable all at the same time! Sure, I'll get writers block and maybe a headache every once in a while, but it's all part of the process.

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: Curating emotion where there is little to be found.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: Music Production (Originals & Remixes)

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Anything from dance to future bass, from trap to r&b, from cinematic/orchestral to pop.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: My character. Whether it be a huge, blasting electro house or peaceful chillstep, it all come down to me, my sound, and my personality. I want to bring my own emotions to life through music, and bring out the inner me that can't be explained in words.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: It varies track by track. I can start off with a melody one day and go miles upon miles. Other days, a melody leads to a dead end and I go to the piano to lay out a chord progression. It really can start anywhere.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: FL Studio 11 KRK Rokit5 Speakers Audiotechnica ATH-M30 Headphones

Linkin Park - Heavy (Albert Pan Remix)

I was the Remixer in this production
