Marco Morabito on SoundBetter

Grew up inside a drum factory. Toured Italy and the US. Built my own recording studio. Your vision is my mission!

Hi, I’m Marco!
I’m a drummer, mixer and Music educator.
I grew up inside a prestigious drum laboratory so I learned quite a bit about woods, timber, heads, tunings and more!
I studied with renowned professionals both in Italy (C. Micalizzi, D. Ragazzoni) and overseas ( V. Donati, M. Mangini, S. Gadd, M. Guiliana) and played for major Artists (Officina della Camomilla, Ainé, Emanuele Triglia, Mario Venuti, Tony Canto).
With my Online Session Drummer service, I offer quality recordings/performance for your next great project. I have unlimited access to a large array of drums and cymbals. You can pick from a selection of mics (or I can gladly help you decide which ones suit your creative needs the best!).
I will maintain a solid communication with you both during pre-production and after recording.
I can provide both audio and video of the recordings. My motto for delivery is: quick turn and best quality.
If you decide to hire me, you’ll receive two main work folders. One usually contains the delivery as per your indications and guidelines while the other contains a more personal rendition of the project. You will own both of them and are absolutely free to pick, choose and combine the product until the desired result is achieved.

Take a virtual tour of my studio and book your session today!

I worked with Marco many times and I could not be happier with the results.
If you need a session drummer with fast turn-arounds, professional, reliable and great sounding, you need to look no further. He has his own studio, great equipment, can record himself really well, and send you the files.
He has amazing knowledge of drum kits and can choose the right drum for your style and song. 100% recommended

Interview with Marco Morabito

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Definitely! His name is Leonardo Bertinelli. He is a really talented recording and mixing engineer, and founder of the music production company Bertinelli Sound. Originally Italian, he is now living and working in the US. I am working with him to produce soundtracks for TV Shows and custom songs for clients. Alongside Gaia Leone, Bass player and composer, they realize amazing arrangements in just a few hours, they have their own studio, and they live for their job!

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: The first time I entered in a recording studio, I got butterflies in my stomach and that experience made me decide that I wanted to record professionally for the rest of my life. When playing live, you don’t realize many things because you are focused on creating the groove with the rest of the band and only the audience can fully experience what is happening. However, in the studio, after you play a take you stand up, push the faders up and, just like magic, you discover everything you just created and you think “Was it me playing that?” This is the emotion I experience.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: My strongest skill is having unique and selected equipment to make your productions original. Also, I always play serving the music.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: My drums, all hand made, are captured with professional and industry standard equipment, to guarantee the best quality. My studio is wired using Reference Cables. Mic preamps are Golden Age for Kick, Snare, and Toms; Warm Audio for Overheads; Audient ASP880 for Room, Hi-Hat, and Sub Kick. My speakers are NS10M paired with an Onkyo amplifier and a B&W Subwoofer.

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: Gary Novak, Matt Chamberlain, Kenny Aronoff, Ash Soan, Miles McPherson, Aaron Sterling, D Richard Bailey and many more.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: The most common type of work I offer to my clients is recording professional drums tracks with online delivery.
