4X Latin Grammy Nominee. I'm looking to elevate the artist's vision to new heights.
When I receive a project I try to understand all the things that are behind the creation because I believe that your recording is the consequence of a serie of events that you live.
I think the result of the sound of your project is not just hardware or equipment, it is a sensitive ear and knowledge that allows me to make the best decisions and processes necessary to apply to your project.

Sebastián is one of the most brilliants audio engineers that i know. In my work as a producer and recording engineer, i always rely on him for the mastering process. He takes very seriously what he does and is very professional. He delivers the masters on time and always impress me with the good taste he has for sound. 100% Recommended.
Sebastian does a truly professional job. It is a pleasure as an independent musician to have such a complete professional and an integrated person.
Kick ass work!!!! This guy made our music sound huge! Not only involved in mixing, but a very creative musician supporting the whole process.. highly recommend
Working with Sebas was great for me and my band (Phantos) because he was really focused on really bringing out the best sound quality and texture from our work in studio. Great composition and musicianship is nothing without proper mastering, so thanks to you Sebas!
As a producer, the most important thing is to make happy the musicians you work with. Sebastián can get the feeling in the mix that the musicians are looking for, and that (beeing a producer) let you concentrate in other aspects of the project you are working on.
I'm truly satisfied with the results of working with Sebastian. Such a great person, always giving the best and that's reflected in my mixes after the mastering process. I like his kindness and the attitude to achieve the best sound.
Great hearing for harmony, a very sensitive perception of rhythm. Sebastian really knows what to highlight, how and when, selecting those important 'climax' of your song and making it always better.
Sebastian has been my band's Mastering Engineer for several years, he's very professional and he always delivers the final product in time. I love the fact that he listens to your mastering needs and he works hard until he gets the result that you're looking for. Sebastian is also a musician, so he has a sensitive ear, and he will make your songs sound powerful, without losing the dynamics.
Great work and amazing person, happy with all that he did with our songs. He find what we had in our minds. Ask and work on the big and little things of our songs very meticulous. Don't be afraid to ask him for a demo session, is how he share his work.
Interview with Sebastian Mastering
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: As I told you before, I don't prefer either. Each has good things and "bad" things. What if is that I always seek to find the best tools for each project.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: 200% satisfaction with your audio master.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That in the same day I can work on many musical genres and that I always have the goal of doing the best for the project I am working on.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Many ask me if I work analog or digital. My answer is always: I master with the tools that allow me to achieve the best result for your product, no matter if it's analog or digital.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That my job is just to make the audio material sound loud. My work consists mainly of quality control, which in some cases will require additional adjustments through equalizers, compressors or limiters. Some engineers or producers I work with on a daily basis prefer my work to be non-invasive.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When you listen to your mix, what emotions do you feel and what are you missing?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to talk about what you want to achieve with your project. I always prefer to listen to everything you think and try to make it possible, avoiding possible limitations as much as possible.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: ATC Monitors Apogee Symphony Desktop Audeze Headphones Any DAW
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Since I was little I had independent musical projects that makes me love everything associated with music production. Then I was able to study sound engineering which was complemented by a master's degree in digital arts. I have been dedicated exclusively to audio mastering for more than 6 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Respectful of the mix seeking to preserve the sound stages. In some cases I suggest extreme adjustments that I think may work better, but I always respect the client's position.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with John Mayer. I feel that his music comes from his soul and every time I listen to one of his songs I seem to be getting to know something about his life.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Trust on your ears and your feelings. Obviously you have to train yourself to could blind believe on all your thoughts.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Fortunately, in a day of work I can receive Rock, RAP, Hip-Hop, Urban, Regional, Vallenato and other songs, which has allowed me to be versatile in my work and offer a more global vision of the final product.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Review of small details that can be presented in the audio material. Ability to communicate possible improvements in the mixing stage that may mean a significant improvement in the final master.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I try to understand the artist or producer sound vision of the project. I want to know what are they looking for. Then I check if the mix is ready to be mastered according to their objectives, if it's not ready I send my feedback about the mix that let us get the sound goals. Then I send a master reference that let you listen my approach and wait the feedback of the master. I don't have any problem with making corrections, the most important thing for me is the artist/producer satisfaction.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My mastering setup is based on analog and digital processing, knowing the benefits of each domain. The most important hardware forme is the monitoring. I work with ATC SCM25A PRO combined with an EVE TSF108 Subwoofer that let me listen all the things that happen in the mixes, all of this controlled with a CRANESONG AVOCET IIA. My audio interface is an Apogee Symphony MKII and my DA/AD converter is CRANESONG HEDD QUANTUM. I believe that the tone control let me get the most powerful master from your mixes, that why I have SPL PASSEQ, CRANESONG IBIS EQ, TK AUDIO TKLIZER and ELYSIA XFILTER. For dynamic control I use CHARTER OAK SCL-1 and ELYSIA XPRESSOR. All of the studio setup is routed using FLOCK AUDIO ANALOG PATCH controlled digitally.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Other music production professionals that inspire me are Bob Ludwig, Ted Jensen, Bob Katz, Piper Payne and Greg Calbi.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Multigenre mastering engineer, respectful of the mix received and seeking to bring the sound material to the optimum level.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring new and fresh ears that could listen some things that maybe you have missed on the production process or only check that the sound that you imagine is on the final master.
