Background
Starting at the age of 2/3 with playing drums, I grew up with rock music (Golden Earring, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams). Later on bands like Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Alter Bridge got my attention. At the age of 19 I started producing music because other producers couldn't get the sound I hear. Now many years later I'm producing all kinds of genres and artists.

Maikel Roethof has what I call the "golden ears," and I don't use that term often. He knows that the track needs and makes it happen. His mixes are dynamic, intense, and inspiring. His attention to detail when tracking was some of the finest I've seen in 17 years of recording and performing worldwide.
Just had a chat with Graham and we are both very happy with the first mix. It's sharp and full of energy. Sometimes live concert recordings can sound a bit dull without the visuals, but this one stands out on audio alone.
I have been there several times with my jazz band Roxi Jasper & Suits to record and mix our music. I have heard some of his other work too. Whether it’s rock, electronic music or jazz, Maikel truly understands his craft as mixing engineer aswell as recording engineer. Besides that, he always comes with ideas to spice up the songs we recorded to give it ‘that’ little extra to make it more unique.
Maikel is an overall cool guy. He is very patient and really listens to the wishes and ideas of the artists he works with while still keeping his own signature sound.

Worked with Maikel trying to find my own sound, he made me make a list of about 10 songs that I really liked production-wise, we listened to them all and that way he got a clear view of my type of style. After this, we started on a song idea that I had for ages and for which I couldn't find a suitable producer. He instantly knew what I wanted and clicked with me, which was an amazing experience which I can definitely endorse.
