Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Wesley Hsu; killer producer and instrumentalist!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Turning stories into sound
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A project with my production partner Wesley Hsu, as well as producing beats and loops and sending out to various artists/producers.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When people hear this record, what is something you want everyone to say?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My goal is to help you execute your vision--If I can't do it myself, I will definitely help find someone who can! All about getting your music out there in the best light.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I got into music playing piano at age 4. I played piano, saxophone and drums for a total of 18 years--I have been seriously producing for 3 years and engineering for 2; since I took some audio classes at my university.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: More of an engineering tip--Send your 808 to 2 busses, hardpanned L/R. On those busses, HPF, Distort the signal and add modulation and some type of autopan fx. Blend in to taste Real cool way to get a wobbly outside the speaker effect on your 808's.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I produce and engineer out of my bedroom studio. I do everything in the box, but I have a full-length keyboard that I patch in to program keys and melodic passages. Running everything into a UAD interface and out some Yamaha HS5's.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Two big inspirations at the moment are SAINt Jhn and Ry X. Crazy production, crazy sounds, just super ethereal and emotional every record!

A: Mixing Records/Producing and Beatmaking/Mastering Records
