Josh is in my opinion one of the best singers I have came across in this platform. His tracks were technically perfect, in sound quality and precision of singing. And that's to me that´s essential. As the for the performance, it's solid as a rock. And just loving his sound. Flawless singing from start until the end. 100% recommend!!

I have worked with Josh as vocal talent for years and I have had nothing but fantastic results and experiences with him. Josh has tremendous natural singing talent, but beyond that, he "gets it" immediately and understands how to best apply his talent to a song. He's enormously hard-working and responsive and the product he provides is second-to-none. Josh is both a versatile vocalist, and a gifted recording engineer; he's capable of producing amazing, polished, professional-quality vocals in a wide variety of genres. In my experience, Josh delivers incredible results on time, every time.

I have worked with Josh on a number of projects, including performing 13 songs for the new High Definition version of "Baywatch". All were completed on time under a tight deadline, and in every case the tracks I received were fantastic- perfectly recorded, edited, and tuned vocals arrived via wetransfer, and all I had to do was set the level. Not only is Josh a fantastic singer with a voice well suited to anything from straight up pop to alternative rock, he thinks like a producer, saving me tons of time and effort in the process. Highly recommended. - Dean Dinning (Toad the Wet Sprocket)

Interview with Josh Rabenold

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: A laptop (with a DAW), an interface, speakers, a condenser microphone, and a keyboard/midi controller.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I started out as a lead singer in several bands at the early stages of my career and have since carved out a place for myself as a freelance musician over the last 5 years.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: I consider myself to be quite a versatile singer/songwriter, but if I had to choose one style, I'd have to go with the pop genre.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I aspire to become as good a songwriter as Jason Isbell and Taylor Goldsmith, so naturally, I would be absolutely thrilled to work with either of them one day!

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I mostly work on pop music with the alt/indie genre coming in as a close second.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My strongest skills as a musician are definitely singing and songwriting.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: Typically, I team up with the client to make sure I know exactly what they're looking for regarding my vocals. Once I'm confident that we're on the same page, I will start the recording process which includes tracking multiple takes of each section of the song, creating a composite edit of those takes, tweaking the pitch using Melodyne, and processing the vocal with compression, eq, reverb, and delay.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: As a singer, I'm inspired by Lewis Capaldi and Billie Eilish. As a songwriter, I am inspired by Taylor Goldsmith of the band Dawes, and Jason Isbell.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: As a freelance musician, my most common task for clients is vocal tracking and songwriting.
