Howdy, I'm Ryan Perras. I've lent my skills engineering, mixing, mastering and occasionally producing to hundreds of projects. I run District Recording Studio in San Jose, California.

My ever present goal is to honor the aesthetics of the song/artist to the fullest, hoping to create something that will remain true to the intention of the project for years to come. My ear is drawn to sounds that are timeless and real, I work hard to make the listener feel like they are in the room with the artist.

I believe analog equipment is unmatched in quality and the best way to achieve lasting results. I go to great lengths to shower every recording in as much analog glory as possible. I mix on a custom Neve 5316 console, use a wall of outboard gear and print to an ATR 102 for mix down/mastering. These techniques and equipment allow me to create something sonically unique for every song, and avoids the pitfalls of the same dozen plugins used to mix most projects today.
