Hi, I am Takunda Muusha, a music producer, professional mixing & mastering engineer based in Johannesburg. I've professionally been in the music business for the past 5 years and within those five years managed to gain a great amount of success. I've been working with artists around the world from genres such as Hip Hop, R&B and Afro beats. My goal is to always offer engaging and powerful mixes/masters as well as production.
I've had platinum success with some of South Africa's top artists and songwriters.
I'm currently signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing, one of the worlds biggest publishing companies that houses some of the best producers and songwriters around the world.

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Connecting with the artists vision for the song and making that a reality.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Getting it to be the best version it can be. I love making sure the song becomes the best version of itself.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start off by getting the feel for the song to see which direction I need to take it. After getting the feel for the song I go through my mixing process.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Songwriters inspire me the most. What they do in most occasions has to come from a vulnerable place. When it does come from such a place the art tends to mean so much more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and mastering is what I do most for my clients. I enjoy taking their home or studio recordings to the next level.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: All the projects I've worked on for overseas artists. They help me grow and elevate my skill set. I mix and master these projects
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Different projects. Always working on something through out the year.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To always do my absolute best to get the best results that we are both proud of. Something we can listen to years down the line and still be happy with it.

A: Digital, easier work flow and flexibility. Everything is digital now.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The feeling of getting the end result which is a great sounding song. Most fulfilling feeling ever.

A: How long will it take? It usually takes 2-7days to the mixes done.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That engineers are able to turn around a bad song and make it sound good.

A: What's your vision for the song and where would you like to take it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure your recordings are in great condition to get the best results.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Warmth and clarity. I'm very focused on the quality of the record.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've professionally been in the music business for 5 years. I've got a platinum album and a gold single under my belt. My next plan forward is to break new artists and work on engineering the biggest artists around the world. Dr Dre's career is a blueprint I'd like to follow.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Drake because he is a great songwriter plus he has a great engineering team behind him, would love to learn a few things from them.

A: Sound selection is important. Always choose the right sounds and your mix will come out even better.
