Milan is an amazing songwriter. I explained to him the image I had in my head and he turned it directly into a song. And I love his pronunciation.
Hope we can collaborate soon in the future again - check_circleVerified

Interview with Milan Ehrhardt
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently mixing an EP for a local band in London, and composing the music for a musical in the US.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working with amazing clients and being surrounded by musicians, writers and producers.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Distressor, Neuman u87, my Mac Studio, Native Instruments Keyboard 88, and my Beyerdynamic DT900 Pros.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: About 10 years, but professionally for about 3 years.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mainly rock, but also pop and singer-songwriter.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Based out of Qube Studios, I mainly use Logic Pro X, but Pro Tools is available. In addition to the main gear listed on my profile, standout instruments include a Yamaha U3 Upright Piano (circa £15k) and a number of Fender guitars and basses. At home, I also work on an SSL desk for that sweet analogue sound.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love Mark Ronson, Chris Lorde Alge, and Bob Clearmountain. Also, a lot of old school tunes from the 60s/70s, I especially love the Motown Era, with artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What vibe are you going for? Who do you want it to sound similar too? What are you going to do with the song in terms of promotion?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure that I have a clear idea of what you want. Reference tracks and artists that you love are hugely helpful for me to build off of.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It's all about writing a good song!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Full production of a song. Usually, a client sends me a vocal track and a chord sheet, which I use to build and arrange the entire song over. After listening to a few reference tracks that I have received from the client, I will begin arranging the song with the necessary instruments (usually piano, bass, guitar, drums, samples, synths etc). After this, I send it to the client to make sure that they like what they hear. If yes, I continue to mix the track through my outboard equipment as well as in the box.
