Hi, I'm Luke Potter. I’m a UK Artist / Songwriter / Producer / Mixer / Arranger I've worked with Grammy award winners and Platinum selling producers in the UK, USA and across Scandinavia.
I have worked with world-renowned songwriters and producers & received acclaim from Grammy awards winners for my song writing, and co-written with many extremely successful songwriters including David Sneddon (Lana Del Ray, Hurts), Rob Davis (Kylie Minogue, Spiller) Bleu McCauley (OST to Disney’s Neverbeast), Toby Scott (Kaiser Chiefs, Little Mix)…
As an artist I have over 20 million Spotify streams, & been signed to major labels Sony / Ultra. I’ve done a USA tour and played the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Blvd, House of Blues in Orlando and Atlantic City and The Cavern, Liverpool. I've been lucky enough to have Jörgen Elofsson (Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Westlife) as my mentor and had Johnny Wright (manager of Justin Timberlake, NSYNC, Britney Spears) be involved in my career during my time in the USA.
My production skills have been honed from sitting alongside those mentioned above and working with Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac) Jon Kelly (Kate Bush, Chris Rea) and Steve Power (Robbie Williams, Busted) etc. My single ‘Healing’ out on Ultra is a track produced by myself in my Studio, The Sweet Factory. Here I have been working with a broad spectrum of artists spanning the genres of Pop, Rap, dance and acoustic.
I’m looking forward to working on projects as a new member of SoundBetter. Please reach out if you want me to write/co-write a song, produce/mix your track.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Luke is really a gem of a producer, a musician and a great all around guy! We were having such a great personal and professional time with him working on our track.
the only reason I would suggest not to hire him, is so that we can have him more for ourselves in our future projects LOL.
I highly recommend working with him!

This is the first time I have worked with Luke and I have to say, he is one of the most personable FAST efficient and talented producers I have had the pleasure of working with.. I had loops already I wanted to use and he listened to everything I said and asked for and delivered 10 fold! Absolutely over the moon with this song now and can't wait to release it and work on the next one with him!!!! 10/10

I had a wonderful experience working with Luke. He made sure I was happy with everything, and took my song to a place I never thought possible. Everything we did was online besides vocals, due to covid. Despite this he was so easy to converse with and would reply very fast to any queries I had. It was my first time working with a producer, and I was so pleased with the outcome and the whole experience. Luke is a down to earth professional and I can't wait to work with him again!

Luke is a professional through and through. Even with our different time-zones, he was always communicative, fast with his responses, and readily available to chat.
He was able to take a half written demo and turn it into a song that sounds like a modern pop hit! Would definitely work with him again on future projects.
If you're looking for a professional who has his own ideas, but is more than happy to work with you on your own, this is your guy!

Wow. I am in awe of the fantastic creativity, attention to timeline, and collaborative spirit that Luke brings to each project. He elevates ideas, and I've worked with no one who is as adept at producing. I honestly have nothing but praise for his multiple talents and certainly do not have enough superlatives... A one in a million find.

Luke is by far one of the most talented producers & mixers on sound better. I came across Luke's profile by complete chance, and I am so glad I did. Before working with Luke, I was using the top rated producers on this platform. Even though they were very good at what they do, Luke's talent outshines them all by a country mile. Always a pleasure working with this legend and I cannot wait for the next one!! Lets keep it going buddy!!

A: Writing and producing my single, 'Healing' for Ultra Music - amazing that my production was strong enough for this iconic label!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: There's so many talented guys on Soundbetter, it really all depends on what you're looking for. And you will find it here.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll listen to what you want and, in the event that the client is uncertain, I'll work hard to make it something they love. And I'll work until the client is happy, as a minimum.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That's simple, I love music and I love making music! I like telling stories in my songs that make an impact on people.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much is it gonna cost haha. No, seriously, there's so many questions that can come up. Just ask...
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's rocket science. It's not, it just takes a long time to get your head around the technology so that you use it to make music and not that you're just using technology, however clever it can be.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Check out my music and productions I've done. And talk to me.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: macbook, keyboard, acoustic guitar, phone, electricity!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been writing, recording and performing music for over 10 years. I've worked with so many great people (check out my biography here on Soundbetter).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Pop, trap, hip hop, singer songwriter but I don't like to put limits or think everything has to fit into any one style.

A: I'd love to work with Imagine Dragons, Chainsmokers, NF and Lauv. They always bring something different to the world and are breaking barriers.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Writing, arrangement and using the full array of instruments (played and sampled) to produced the finished track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I work in any number of ways. I can sit and write or co-write a song on keyboards or acoustic guitar and record as we go. I can build a track around a vocal melody. I can take lyrics and write a top line. and arrange and produce. It's whatever it takes.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an amazing view across much of the Somerset countryside (in the UK). It's inspiring! I work on Logic and have Splice, Arcade, Antares, Waves, Samples and many other plug-ins I have keyboards, a number of acoustic and electric guitars. I use a Neuman SMG microphone and have access to other top mics
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Aside from doing my solo writing and recording I co-write and produce most of the music that is recorded in my studio, The Sweet Factory. Increasingly, I've been doing production work and re-imagining arrangements and building production around vocal tracks. I'm happy to try new things and confident that I can produce great results for artists.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask to hear if they've any recordings that they've made already. I ask if they have any artists that inspire their music. I ask what their plans are for the music and where they'll be trying to get it played - the answer may well help me to develop a production style based on this.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Remember the song is king, everything is about making it something people want to listen to - and then listen again.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, indie pop, hip hop, trap, rap, rock, soft rock but I'm up for anything really. I listen to all types of music and study the way tracks are built.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A number of projects including co-writing and producing an album for Jacob Browne. He's a really exciting talent and someone you're going to hear a lot more from. There is also an EP coming out soon by a Bristol duo, Suit & Tye, for which I wrote the music and produced the music. My record label is planning a number of my own releases in 2020 with the first track arriving in March 2020. I'm often doing writing camps and travel to Sweden 3-4 times a year to work with and learn from some of the best talents in the music business. I also work with guys in LA and will be visiting in 2020.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for me, I was born in the nineties.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As a songwriter I like to think that I can visualise what makes the song work and add the right production that makes it sparkle.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm all about the song so the musicians and producers that inspire me are the ones that feel it and often just do the simple things that make it the best it can be.
