Interview with Dylano van Beek
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is that I will do everything I can to prepare your track for streaming, radio and distribution in general. Nothing is missed and I will do what you expect it to do.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It is often said that mastering is only a 'side issue'. But it is much more than that. It is about the finishing touch of your end product. And that is not just something. This determines whether the record label, your listeners or anyone else will get a good impression of your track or not.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I describe my style as 'Smooth', 'Energetic' and 'Hot'.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sure! I like the line "Less is more". Move away from what is not right and do what is right. Achieve what you need to achieve and don't let it hold you back.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My greatest skill is improving tracks that are already super cool. I love to be able to give that last boost before it comes online!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I mainly improve songs. Let's call it an "addition." Preparing to release a song is very important, but also a process that must be done properly.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all, I want to get to know my client and what his expectations are of the project. This is super important because the person who made the track knows the track very well. Once I have all the info I need. Then I will start. This starts small and ends in detail. I dare to call myself a perfectionist, nothing is missed!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am a big fan of many artists. Think of Elvis Presley, but also Eminem, Lil Pump, etc. Their work inspires me to end up on other levels and to get better at what I do.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the work involves mixing and mastering. I often master complete albums and help to create a unique sound.
