  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I’m currently working for a producer in Angola, who works for many artists. Also I’m doing some cool collaborations with many different musicians and artists. Next to playing live with artists like Lura, Munir Hossn, Teus Nobel, Anabela Aya, and many more.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I will always play in full truth to music.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love that I‘m able to do the things I love to do the most. That way I put passion and love in the work I do. I love the diversity and the adventure to find the best addition to songs and works.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: My drumset, mics, a laptop, soundcard and a satellite

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I’ve been playing drums since 4 years old, that’s about 30 years. I studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory for music In Rotterdam NL. Toured all over the world with several bands and projects. I’m recording drums professionally for over 15 years now.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Mostly I work on Fusion styles, Jazz, World Music like African music, Brazilian Music, Cuban Music, but also pop music and oriental music.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: I guess my strongest skill is natural sound and groove.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I always try to listen to the music and add to it what I believe the song really needs.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: Work comes in, I study the song and check the wishes from the client. I record one or 2 takes On the guide track send by the client. Than I send a preview to the client trough WhatsApp or e-mail, if needed I record another take with adjustments. After approval of the take I do the necessary edits and send the raw tracks in the desired formats.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: I work with several drum kits according to what the song or project needs next to a great sounding room with a beautiful mic set up. I work mostly with Pro Tools as DAW.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: Recording and editing drum tracks for producers, musicians, bands, projects, productions etc...
