It was a pleasure working with FITZGERVLD. Sometimes when working virtually, the communication between artist and producer can get a bit challenging as it's not the same as being in the same room. Every time I would hear something or needed certain changes/adjustments FITZGERVLD would reply very quickly and make all those corrections, no matter how small. I also enjoyed his energy throughout the process and his professionalism. Highly recommend him!

I would hire FITZGERVLD as my full-time producer if I had the cash! If you’re an artist with a concept or demo, he takes it to a whole new level while still keeping your original vision intact. If you’re looking for ear-wormy vocal production, subtle guitar textures, and drums that SLAP, he’s your man! His friendly communication and quick turnaround time make working with him a breeze. I highly recommend hiring FITZGERVLD for your next project!

FITZGERVLD was the best producer I could have picked for my project. He is an absolute beast at elevating a song to its fullest potential with a minimalistic touch and, most importantly, he was prompt, thorough, and polite during our communications and in delivering the project. I know I will be working with him again in the near future and I look forward to it.

FITZGERVLD is truly, a talented producer. But he is selling himself short with his genre list! Garrett worked on our indie/ art rock project and contributed greatly with his pop sensibilities, that overall improved the structure and listenability of our songs. If you overall want a massive improvement to any music project you are working on, be sure to hire FITZGERVLD

Fitzgervld will bring your music wherever you thought it needed to be and then some. He is professional, confident, creative, inspirational, talented, understanding, and an artist. He knows how to work with music and people. No such thing as disappointment when working with him.

I've named FITZ 'Flavour Kid'cause he killed production on a couple of projects that I was working on that need that extra little ear candy to put them over the top. If you got something and you want it to sparkle get him one it!

I am currently working with FITZGERVLD on an upcoming EP. He has created such amazing tracks and weaves his ideas as well as your own ideas so that it fits perfectly into the style and direction that you want your song to go to. Whether your starting from scratch or with a melody and chords FITZGERVLD is able to work with anything. He is super easy going and flexible. Definitely would recommend working with him.

Garrett has helped with production and preproduction of our upcoming album! He is an effective, knowledgeable and talented producer with his own touch and the ability to adapt to new styles. Definitely a good producer to work with!

I worked with FITZGERVLG on my latest single “Versiles”
Originally I just had a few stems, but not much else.

I’m always a little bit nervous when approaching producers for the first time. Like all musicians, I tend to be protective with my sound.
I was totally blown away by what Garret did with the track. He elevated it, and made it so much better. While keeping the original “vibe” and idea Intact.
I was so impressed at the care he took. And the attention to detail he has. There were so many moments in the song that were totally unique.

He’s my guy from now on,

Fitzgervld and I have worked together now for 4 years. We were both emerging artists learning a lot when we first started, Garrett was the first producer I ever worked with and he was able to take my ideas and my references to make my vision come to life. He learns fast and he also offers feedback on writing and vocals which I always found helpful. I appreciate all his work in helping me get to where I am, his sound has his own unique twist that stands out and his own solo artistry is really good too. He’s very understanding and I recommend giving him a chance :)

Interview with FITZGERVLD

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Lahar. He is a super talented vocalist and topline writer that I would HIGHLY recommend checking out if you need some power and catchy vocals on your song!

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: "I have a song already started, I just need someone to finish it or take it over the top. do you do that? or do you only build songs from scratch for artists?" My answer: YES! although I love starting songs from scratch and building them completely, I am always open to adding those "Final touches" that a song needs. Wether it be guitars, keyboard/synths, vocal production or drum production - I am always down to help you make your vision a reality!

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: "Just Like Water" (Featured on here on my profile) with Kesara and Isaac Haines. I produced, co-wrote and mixed the record and it was so much fun. Very proud of how it came together.

  7. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  8. A: Lots of music for Film/TV to be launched on The Music Bed, working with artist all across Canada and working on more original music of my own.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My job/promise is to bring a "fresh touch" an objective approach to your music in order to make it as appealable to listener as I can, while keeping your vision for the song intact. We work until you're happy with the song, This is your heart and soul in song form - I promise to treat and respect it as such!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Working with amazing, creative people and helping them bring there songs from a vision to a reality. Creating with people is so fun!

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: "I can do that myself". while you absolutely could produce all your own music and technology makes that a viable option these days, sometimes its incredibly valuable to have an outside, objective perspective to work on your music. Hiring a producer (Wether its me or someone else) is a great way to bring a new dynamic approach to your music. A producer will attack your song from angles you never considered - ultimately bringing the best out of your already amazing music!

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: Growing up playing in bands and creating music of all genres from a young age, this was always the career path for me. I have been producing music for 5 years.

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: a better question: What will serve the song best?

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: What style are you looking for? Do you have a reference track(s) for what world you want this song to live it? (This helps steer me in the right direction stylistically) What is your timeline/deadline for this song to be wrapped? Is this being delivered to Synch opportunities? (This determines what deliverables to send you upon completion)

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Find the right person for the job. Find someone who is experienced in your field or what you're looking for, and make sure you check out their previous work to see if its up your alley. Behind every amazing artist is an amazing team, I'd love to be apart of yours.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: A modern approach to music with classic sensibilities.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: Anyone and everyone. as much as I love helping an artist grow and achieve the sound they are looking for, I recognize that every job is a learning opportunity for me as a producer, mix or master engineer. I love a challenge and I love ALL music!

  27. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  28. A: Macbook, apollo, Headphones, microphone, Iphone

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't over think it and don't over crowed the sonic landscape. After producing a beat (especially if you want a vocalist to sing/rap over top of it), look at it objectively and ask yourself, "What is needed in this song? are certain sounds/creative decisions benefiting the song or taking up space where a vocal could be sitting?"

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, Hip Hop, Trap, EDM, EDM - Pop cross over.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Music Production

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: As a producer, mixing or mastering engineer, its my job to create the best world for you to live in as an artist. At the end of the day, I will aim to bring you a finished product that makes your heart smile and makes you want to dance, cry or laugh.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Now adays, its helpful to have reference material for the song you're hiring me to work on. What artist and song do you want to use as a reference for me to steer the production style, mix approach or master vibe in? From there, Its all about me living with the track and spending time painting a sonic picture that makes you happy.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I am a exclusively "in the box" producer. I have a private studio, but keeping workflow based primarily on my laptop allows me to write, produce, mix and master on the go and be completely mobile if necessary.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Post Malone, Lauv, Lany, The 1975, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Skrillex, Diplo

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Pop and Hip Hop/Rap. Production, Mixing and Mastering
