I specialize in making classic hip hop beats. Some may call it boom bap. I put my own special twist of modern and classic hip hop all in one.

Producer and beatmaker, Tobes was born outside Cleveland but grew up in Michigan where he spent the most of his teenage years in the Detroit area. At an early age, he was exposed to a wide variety of music genres, hip hop, classic rock and metal standing out the most. His love for music grew rapidly when his father took him to Ozzy Osbourne’s Ozzfest. He then began to play guitar in a local band. Tobes’ love for hip hop however started when his mother bought him his first Tupac CD. He began to listen to the likes of great hip hop artists such as Notorious B.I.G, N.W.A and Nas.

Soon after high school, Tobes enlisted as an Infantryman in the Marine Corps and for the next 4 years served his country. It was on one of his tours that he decided to purchase an MPC and began his journey as a beatmaker.

He looked up to producers such as J Dilla, Pete Rock and DJ Premier.

After leaving the Marines in 2012, he moved to California where he currently resides.
