Music Producer, Sound Design
I love music, I'm always looking for new sounds and ways to express myself as well as helping other people with their own projects, on the production if they need to or with creative recording and mixing techniques to find new ideas. My specialization: multi genre production. Top credit: worked on records that achieved platinum/gold certification.
Professionally known as Sonny Crsn, I have worked on various high profile records that achieved gold certification and critical acclaim. These records are "Status" by Marracash (Gold in 2015 / Platinum in 2018), "Kepler" by MadMan & Gemitaiz (Gold in 2014 / Platinum in 2018), "Doppleganger" by MadMan (Gold in 2018) and "Fenice" by IZI (Gold in 2018).
I have worked on the soundtrack of a successful italian Film (Zeta, directed by Cosimo Alemà).

Interview with Stefano Fantin
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music production. Based on the music he likes and is inspired by at the moment.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar inspired me a lot with their critical acclaimed records. I love Bon Iver and Frank Ocean as well as more electronic artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, Nils Frahm, James Blake and Burial.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I don't offer you the most expensive equipment in the world but I can assure you that I will turn a simple/ruff/lo-fi idea into something musical and appealing.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Drum/Melody programming, transforming samples into an instrument.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic, Hip Hop and R&B
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen the track or a reference the client gave me. Then I will focus on what can be improved and what is already working in the case of a demo. Are you looking for an instrumental production? Perfect, usually I start with the melody and then the drums. After that the rest of the production choices will be driven only by the sound, for example a recording of an acoustic/electric guitar or a real piano, as well as vocal samples and effects for a solid arrangement. Obviously the client will be involved in every steps.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Well, first of all a fresh ear. There are multiple things that I could do, just lay down the instrumental an artist is looking for or completely rework a track.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Step by step we can be anything we want. Always keep the focus on your goal.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Me right now. I don't like staying in the safe zone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have started producing music at 13/14 years old. Now I have an expierence of more than 10 years but my path is far from being marked. I love feeling like at the beginning, I will never stop learning.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: "oh so you created the music of that song... I thought it was the singer"
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I can express myself with music and creativity.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will treat your music like mine, working for hours until I will be satisfied by it.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog is warm, outstanding and has the beauty of being not perfect but I am also always looking at the future technologies.
