Interview with PAVILI STUDIO
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: We really like the work of FLOOD , aka Mark Ellis, Mike Spike Stent, Andy Wallace
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio is based on years of research about different sounds and texture produced by different analogue and digital equipement, both modern and vintage. That´s the reason why for example you will find that we use both an original Telefunken V72 preamp , 60s era, and a modern clean dangerous bax eq, tape or super high end AD/DA.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We always try to put ourselves in the perspective of the musician, that´s why it is fundamental for us to get a mix from the client. It doesn´t matter how does it sound technically speaking, but from that we can get a clue of the direction to take and have a reference
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All kinds of Pop and Electronic music
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Analysis and cleaning of the material, dialogue with the client, processing and mixing / mastering : Usually we check that the material received can go to the next step, meaning that we´ll check sample rate, bit depth and if there is any need for denoise or click removal. Then we listen to the song and make a picture of what is needed to do next. Then it goes to analog processing and fine tuning
