Interview with Felix
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: it depends on the project. To me a good analog recording followed by a digital in-the-box mixing is enough for small producions and semi-pro arrangement...
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: that a semi-pro can produce a really good sounding mix. Not all people are able to combine musical elements into a good sounding mix I think.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: small productions mixed in-the-box, guitar solos, small rock-pop arrangments , etc.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: to provide me with ALL info I need to bring key messages into music . It's never matter of technology. It's always a matter of feeling !
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: good quality/price ratio. I am a semi-pro . Seriously.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: a guitar and a tube amp.other I don't need!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: vintage
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: separate instruments freq range to glue entire song/mixing...less is better. Dynamic range war is somthing I don't like
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: good ears and musical passion
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: passion and experience
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: '60s, '70s , blues, pink floyd's, genesis, led zeppelin...
