Russell Tessier is a professional upright and electric bassist originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan currently and permanently residing in Los Angeles. Growing up 30 Miles from Detroit, Russell spent years working as a musician in the legendary musical environs of Detroit and learning from musical masters such as Jazz Giant Saxaphonist Donald Walden among others. Russell also was educated at The New School for Jazz and spent time while there playing in New York City and learning from the myriad jazz legends on faculty as well as playing gigs with fellow students like Robert Glasper. Russell has quickly become a respected and busy Bassist in the professional music community of Los Angeles due to his professionalism, reliability and comfortabilty playing any idiom of music, great reading skills, chops and versatility to perform on electric, fretless or upright bass.
